[WIP] Project Civ: A Quality-Oriented Civ Pack

Sounds great actually. For the trait C++ or lua will be required I think. To may settle only in different continents <MayFoundAboard></MayFoundAbourd> should fo the trick, but Spain DLC (free on G&Ks) will be required, so vannila version will be a little harder.

But they are removing the Caravel from Portugal at the same time. Why not just make a UU that replaces the Caravel? Their idea for it seems to require lots of lua, so if they are going that route they might as well make a UU replacing the caravel and then use lua to do what they want.

Are you sure? Most of the time when a DLC requires new XML code it comes with a patch, so chances are you'd have the code for it even if you don't have the DLC

No, but as seen that other Mods (such as one wich gave America faster movement along rivers) required DLC (in this case the WOTAW Scenario) I presumed it would. 1 way to know: try it

That was a mistake on the part of the modder and they set the mod to require the Wonders DLC even though they didn't have to. All the DLC traits (not counting G&K into Vanilla) can be programmed into the base game without owning the DLC. The new XML tag gets added with a patch as all the DLC works from the same DLL.

Oh. I misunderstood because Irkalla said "Give Portugal a blank UU for Caravel", which I thought meant "disable Caravels".

Which, I, in turn, misunderstood genghis. Sounds good. I'll see if I can't make carracks upgrade to caravels so the disembark promotion lasts a bit longer.

In addition, I'd like to make them only buildable on the same continent as your capital.

I'll be working on Sparta, but I may pick up Portugal when I'm done with Sparta. Also up there are the Phoenicians and the Zulu.

Also, before I do Portugal I need to study patterns in the game about player colours.

There's a problem in Portugal replacing the Market with the Feitoria, the way you described you would be striping inland cities from the Market. Just replace the Harbour, it's already confined to the sea so it wouldn't be a problem

I could have it replace markets only in coastal cities.

So I've decided on the colours for various civs.

Beautiful. I presume the Israel colors are distinct enough from America and France?

I agree with isnorden

Are you sure that a red and green Portugal clashes with Ethiopia?

The red and green were nearly identical. The colours of ethiopia look darker in game due to transparency.

That, and red and green tend to look the same because green will look dark against red unless it's obnoxiously bright, regardless of its luminance.

Portugal's colours are darker than greece's, and Israel is an inverted Greece.

I may see if I can make Portugal's colours exactly the same as Hypereon's Finland, that way when they're in the same game, one will be forced over to an alternate colour (I think that's how it works)

However, if it's a good compromise, I can always go Inverse Ethiopia.

Or, I can change Ethiopia's colours when Portugal is activated. Green on Yellow?

What about some kind of blue and gold for Israel? If I ever made an Israel mod, I would use them. That wouldn't be too similar to America/France or Greece/(my Finland).
