General Azale looked out of the bombed out buidling he called his HQ. Beyond, he could see two large armies engaging in an open field near Methrilton.

The Horst muskets were not being very effective vs the Estland rifles. Soon, they were forced to retreat to Methrilton. This dissapointed Azale, but didnt surprise him.

"Soon, this will stop. These new rifles shipments should arrive soon."

As he said that, he looked up in the clouds as if thats where he expected its source would be.

The Supreme Director, the highest, and therefore dictatorial, office in the Astorian government, had finally decided to strike against the weakling of Midey. The tiny Republic would not live to see the next century!!!

From Astoria
To Horst:
You go to war with our ally, Estland??? We will not stand for this! We are initiating a naval blockade of your islands until you cease to fight him! No Horst-ian ships will be allowed to leave the Horst Islands!

To the World:
Anyone who goes against Estland goes against us! Beware!

To Midey:
No way in hell are you gonna live for long! Astoria will be glad to take you into our control!!!

To Estland:
We are initiating a naval blockade of Horst. Your ships will be allowed to enter the perimeter, but Horst-ian ships will not be able to leave, and the one that are outside the perimeter we create will be detained.

Orders:
2/3 of Navy initiate a blockade of the Horst islands until they respond after the update. Don't let Horst ships leave, but allow Estland ships to come in for their own purposes.
1/3 of the Navy stay near Astorian islands.
7/8 Army invade Midey.
1/8 stay in Astorian lands

World Events:

Navel Battles Erupt! The Horst navy attempted to raid the supply lines of the Estland assault. The raid was a complete success. The ships soon were able to stockpile on buty, including several hundread rifles. The Estland Navy soon gave chase. As the Horst navy returned to port a large Astorian flotilla appreared on the horizon. The Astorian ships immediatly panicked and fired upon the aproaching Horst fleet. The battle that insued was intense. The Horst navy was able to barly slip buy, with the lose of only 2 ships. The Estland navy in chase got caught up in the battle and the Estland and Astorian Navies began to fire on one another! By the end of the day the Estland ansd Astorian navy took heavy damage(-1 sizes each) while the Horst Navy escaped.

On land the Estland and Horst armies clashed in a decisive battle in the grasslands in the southern front. The Horst army outnumbered the Estland army 2:1. The Estland army still held the advantage of rifles and quickly destroyed the larger army in only 3 hours of bloody fighting. The Horst army retreted North only to be met with an even larger Estland force. The Horst dispatchment was destroyed.(-1 Army Size)

Meanwhile the allies of the two nations clashed on the sea. Frimca sent a fleet to destroy the Troke navy and attacked in the east. The Frimca fleet caught the Troke flotilla by suprise and completly destroyed it(-1 size)

Another war started as Nudland invaded Midey. The Nudland navy was unopped as the Midey Navy was still at port in the centeral island. The Northwest island was quickly over run and now lies in Nudland hands.

Astoria decides to help his ally and also invaded Midey a week later. The Midey fleet though was now prowling the seas after the Nudland invasion. As a result the unprotected transport fleet was ambushed and many soldiers were killed at sea(-1 Army). The remains of the fleet returned to port rather then to be slughtered.

Country Events:

In Horst The Rifles taken from the sucessful raid were quickly re-engineered and the Horst army is now armed with Rifles w/ only the loss of 1 economy. The rifles were too late for any battles. Meanwhile the Horst army stayed constant through drafts. The economy falls into a recession and people become Angry.

Nudland Economy grows to Very Prousperous. Nudland is the richest country in the world.(happiness +1)

Estland economy becomes a weak economy.

Sudland has a Growing economy.

Astoria has a Stable economy

Frimca grows army x1. People grow Happy from Navel victory. Rifles are given to them by Estland.

Troke grows navy x1 and replaces the losses in the battle with Frimca.

"HA AH AHA H, do not be mad, we are in a fight for our lives!!" a silence fell over the crowd, "We have destroyed the navies of our enemies! They cower to our power! (catchy)"

"Sometimes, to save millions of lives, we must sacrifice a few thousand, but we are now pushing the Esties out. They are fleeing as we equip our troops to fight them better. Soon, thier only advantage will be gone."

"I wish not for my people to be angry, but sometimes sacrifices must be made, and like most of the time, these small sacrifices help in the longrun" Azale was subject to kissing, hugging, cheering, and yelping as he walked back to his carriage.

He had convinces one crowd.

Supreme Director Bowman (the guy from the previous turn) sat in his room in the Supreme Palace and was very worried since he had heard of the humiliating defeats Astorians had suffered - a whole army level gone!!! the Astorian Fleet panics and continues firing when the Estlander Fleet arrives at the Horst Islands!!!
The Astorian Board of Directors would not let this just slip by and allow him to continue as Supreme Director.
He had been able to smuggle his family out of Astoropolis, the capital, the night before. He would've escaped in the morning, but the Board of Directors had already declared that he was no longer Supreme Director, and that they had temporary executive power. The Director of Commerce had ordered all traffic in and out of Astoropolis stopped - no one was getting in or out.
Suddenly, he heard a knock on his door.
"Open the door, Bowman!!!" he heard a rough voice from the other side of the door.
"**** YOU! You'll never get me! NEVER!"
They shoot down the door and the Board of Directors comes in.
"Oops! I guess I spoke too soon..." Bowman looks down in shame.
"You will suffer for the constant mistakes and humiliations you have caused the Astorian nation! You will face the firing squad in just about 2 minutes. Any last words?"
"Yes! You can take our lives! BUT YOU CAN NEVER TAKE... OUR FREEDOM!!!"
"What are you talking about? You were a dictator!"
"You just HAD to ruin my moment, didnt you?!"
Then Bowman gets shot.
General Cassius Castinelli becomes the new Supreme Director.

We apologize for the incident of our fleet engaging with you fleet, but it was complete madness and our former Supreme Director was a dumbass. Will you sign peace with Horst? If you won't then neither will we.

To Horst:
If Estland signs peace with you, we will also sign peace.

You may think you dealt us a crushing blow, but we are just getting started. Our previous Supreme Director was known for his stupidity and his tendencies to get high on paint fumes. Do not expect this from me - Supreme Director Castinelli!!! We will have revenge for this! One of the reasons for our failure to succeed - Bowman - is already dead. You will soon join him at the Gates of Hell.
