Madagascar Blunder?
In what has to be one of the strangest military operations since the collapse of the United Earth Federation, the Republic of Australia attempted to form a colony on the island of Madagascar. 5 divisions of infantry, along with artillery and naval support landed on the eastern side of the island on April 16. For the last two months, they have struggled to get past their initial beachhead as powerful warlords have attacked them repeatedly. Even several fighter aircraft were scrapped up by the warlords and thrown against the invaders. Supplies are steady, however morale is thinning and Madagascar seems as unified as ever to defeat the invaders from another island.

South Africa expands Democracy
South Africa has launched a powerful military attack into warlord controlled Zimbabwe and Mozambique in particular. The South African military has successfully defeated every warlord it has come across. Casualties however remain high as warlords use guerilla tactics against the South Africans. Several powerful warlords have agreed to an alliance and have formed a new nation of Malawi. Their military force although smaller than South Africas is battle trained and ready to defend themselves.

Europe
Russo-Baltic War!
Russia has launched a powerful, sudden and unprovoked attack into the Baltic Federation. It began the night of March 24. Over 350,000 troops moved out across the border into the Baltic and Finland. The Federation however was not unknown to the attack. They had spent much to gain valuable information from the Russians and had stationed a much larger force in the Baltic than the Russians had attacking. They knew where and with how much, just not when.
When it id come, it was still a surprise. Russian planes and artillery hit Baltic forward positions with ferocity. Hundreds of thousands of troops began to move across the border, mostly in the north. Former Finland has been almost overrun as over 300,000 Russian troops march against a force 1/3 the size of their own. The majority of resistance there is focused around Helsinki and Oulu.
In the south, a much smaller force engaged the Federation. 50,000 troops crossed against the Baltic force of 75,000. The Russians however had surprise and training on their side. The Baltic troops however had their homeland to defend, and knew what they were up against. Baltic forces have valiantly fought hard against their Russian opponents. Russian forces have been stalled outside of Riga for the last 10 weeks since they arrived there 5 weeks into the campaign. Russian and Baltic losses have been heavy, but the fight continues.
The battle for the skies however has proved another favor for the Russians. Russian superiority in numbers and training has allowed them to take the skies from the Baltic forces. Baltic anti-aircraft and the remains of their air force proves to still be a powerful enemy against the Russian air.

Americas
Canadian Warlords overrun
The Central States of America launched a massive attack on the Canadian Warlords that controlled much of the former nation. The attacks were a stunning success. Not long after the defeats of the warlords, Canada marched its own army into the area to secure as much as possible. They were only able to take valuable forests compared to the cities that the CSA bagged.

Caribbean Secured
The Eastern States of America launched an operation similar to the CSAs, but in an effort to take the Caribbean. The effort proved much more difficult, but successful nonetheless. A much more important thing to note is that the ESA has landed forces into Central America. Central America has long been claimed part of either Greater Columbia or part of Mexico. This has made politics in the region a little more complicated. In response Mexico and Columbia have upped their efforts in taming the land. Central America is proving far more difficult to capture than Cuba or Canada.

South American Cold War
A cold war of sorts has begun in South America. It occurred after Brazil tried to form a coalition of South American states to guard against the ever increasing threat of the Southern Cross Alliance. Peru was the only nation to hear the call and join with Brazil. Outraged by this the SCA demanded the alliance be dropped on the basis that it is solely based against them. When Brazil and Peru refused, the SCA was forced to use alternative measures. The SCA then turned towards Argentina who was still recovering from their war with Brazil. Argentina was only too happy to join with an alliance with SCA. There is now two strong alliances in South America, both ready to fight if need be.
