I build the Oracle almost every single game. A free social policy at the beginning of the game is great for getting the finisher of your starting tree asap.

Speaking of social policies,10% discount near the end of the game? If great scientists were fixed to be like musicians it 'might' become useful, but probably not.

I'm still not fully convinced about the Pentagon or the CN tower getting all the flak those wonders are getting. Sure, they aren't great in themselves, but you don't lose very much by building them either. In my Poland game, I had a great engineer doing nothing near the end of the game. Should I give one of my cities +4 production with a landmark (which is near useless end game), or should I use my engineer on the CN tower? Even if the benefit isn't huge, I'm giving up almost nothing by building this, so why not get free broadcast towers in all my cities? Seems like a wonder worth building to me.

Probably a fair assessment. I definitely agree on CN tower.

If opportunity cost is to be factored in, then I'd probably lean toward saying either Parthenon or Borobudor. Both of those tend to come at the expense of much better wonders (Oracle and Great Mosque/Hagia Sofia) so I tend to never build them.

Who dareth down vote Big Ben so early?! This stacked with Mercantilism and your choice of units or buildings in Auto/Order, and rush-buying late-game stuff no longer breaks the bank. I'd say it even got better in BNW, since I find myself attempting to get factories sooner for the earlier Ideology bonuses and Big Ben unlocks on the same tech.

Djenne is useful in theory, but it is a high-competition wonder with little pay-out. Unless you plan on spamming missionaries, you are basically stuck with a very hammer-expensive mosque and that is it.

CN Tower- 6 - Yea, if you have 20 cities this might still do something, but even then it effects very little. It's on cultural/diplo path but it helps with neither of them (if you are going for culture, and don't have broadcast towers everywhere by the time you research telecommunications, you're doing something wrong).

Prora- 21 - Inclusion of this wonder in BNW got a lot of hate. Did Prora deserve spot in game or not, wonder itself is very nice. Warmongers absolutely need happiness, and this wonder gives lot of it. And since only warmongers go autocrazy, this wonder is really helpful. Second best ideology wonder.

Terracotta Army- 0 - Sounds nice on paper, but isn't that good in-game. To maximise potential of this wonder, you should have at least 3 or 4 unit types, and since getting units takes time, it's really hard to actually use this wonder effectively (AI builds it rather early). This might be useful for Germany though (multiply hand-axes etc.)

Hmm..pretty much all the crappy wonders are gone. This will be hard to vote in now

After that, with the extra base delegates from FP and religion it's pretty easy to do whatever suits my victory condition

Oracle- 22 = 25 - 3 You guys got rid of the CNN tower but gave 5 upvotes for a wonder that only gives you 1 social policy? There are 3 other wonders that give you the social policy and something else. How can the Oracle be better than the SOL? At this point in the game you should never build this wonder. You should either build the GL to get to the NC, or the Stonehenge if you absolutely must have a religion. That or build your libraries. The 1 social policy you get from this will just be filler until you unlock Rationalism anyway.

Oracle's free policy is actually free, in that it doesn't add to future policy cost. It won't interfere with when you'd normally get Rationalism and Oracle has base culture on it anyway, which means you will get through Rationalism faster than you would without it.

It is also a low competition wonder (usually) and it is on the same tech as NC, so no detour.

Oracle is getting upvoted over CN Tower because a free social policy 150 turns before you win the game is a lot better than a free social policy 10 turns before you win the game.

On the other hand, Cristo is worst than the CN tower.

Taj has taken a beating since vanilla. GA's, while still useful, don't have as much impact on the culture game as they used to. 4 happiness doesn't go as far with the addition of religion and mercantile CS's. And to top it off, it is in direct competition with Porcelain Tower--unless you have a massive tech lead and/or a strong second city to build it in, it is unlikely you will get both.

Stonehenge is one of the more reliable ways to pick up a religion. Shrines/Temples are terrible and unless you want to rely upon the gods to give you a faith natural or early faith CS ally through quests, you won't have much of a chance. Faith pantheons work, but then you cannot pick a different pantheon, like messenger of the gods or goddess of the hunt.
