Hello,

My problem seems to be that whenever I complete a wonder (stonehenge etc.) with that little movie showing what it looks like or whatever. Well instead of showing the movie it shows a black screen which then errors and closes the game.

Can anyone help me?

sorry kinda new to the game (picked it up yesterday played it today)

Thanks for the advice it worked :)

With me, this only happens with a few wonders. You may still be able to watch most of them (just save the game before you end the turn).

I have also had this problem with BTS and turned off movies... which is strange because I kind of remember the movies working in my first few weeks of playing BTS.

This one is strange, I built the great wall twice since the new patch with no problems, then i built it again and it crashed on the wonder movie that time and twice after untill i turned the movie off. No idea what causes it.

does it crash reliably? if so you could open my games\beyond the sword\civilizationIV.ini
and set everything with log in its name to 1 and hydepythonexceptions to 0 then start and crash the game. After that upload the contents of my games\beyond the sword\logs as a zip file

Did you try lowering your movie quality in the graphics tab in the options screen?

There it is. Note: I used worldbuilder to rush a stonehenge, but I forgot to reactivate movies. So I did it again in a new game.

Appreciate any help you can give.

I patched to 3.13 and also used Bhruic's patch. I used the same procedure as before to crash the game. I also copied away all the logs prior to doing this.

and wonder movies still crash? did you try what alexman proposed? There are no errors in the log - so I assume its something to do with your graphics card...

Ah, yes, that worked. Thanks for the help, ori and alexman.

I turned it down to Medium and it worked. I don't know why this is, because I'm pretty sure they worked in BTS for a while (and I pretty much always have it at high), and I'm certain they they worked in Warlords.
