Wonder speculation

G&K is going to add 9 new wonders, and I'd like to speculate what they might be. We know from the concept art that the Terracotta Army, Petra and the Mosque of Djenne will be among them. One could also suspect that the three cut wonders (Panama Canal, Three Gorges Dam and Large Hadron Collider) will be included.
It's quite obvious that some new wonders will help with religion and espionage. Maybe we'll get equivalents to Stonehenge and the Oracle that give a lot of faith or grant a free belief, maybe someolf wonders will get new effects. The Kremlin would make a nice espionage wonder (maybe new spies start with more experience).

For some reason the Terracotta Army just screams 'exploitation of peasants', so I think it might get the effect the Pyramids have now (free worker and faster mprovement construction) while the Pyramids might get changed to the 'Stonehenge of Religion' -a wonder that provides a lot of early faith points.
What do you think ?

There was speculation regarding The Leaning Tower of Pisa since it was on the cover art for vanilla, but part of me thinks the design studio that did it was working off a stylesheet they were given, rather than a list of potential wonders.

The cover art hasn't meant anything in the past. It's just art.

I can see them reusing the three left out wonders of vanilla. Though I think the problem there had more to do with that they couldn't implemen them the way they wanted. Especially the Panama Canal is hard to implement properly, does it turn one tile into a canal? Highly situational... The Hadron Collider is very late game, and that's not when you need science boni.

I would like to see more Industrial and Modern Age Wonders. There are not enough of them. The Chrysler Building, Neuschwanstein Castle, even Burj Khalifa or Burj al-Arab, Crystal Palace, Broadway, Golden Gate Bridge, the Eurotunnel, Wembley. I see I am becoming a bit too euro-centric right now and not very industrial...

The Sphinx seems an reasonable choice of new wonder, along with other wonders from past civilizations games, like "Apostolic Palace" and "The Spiral Minaret" .

I predict some late-game happiness wonders akin to rock & roll, broadway & hollywood from civ4

Okay, I'll speculate.

Tintagel Castle: Increases generation of Great People in that city by 25%, +2 culture. Requires: Iron Working.

Botany Bay: Reduces unhappiness in Capital by 1 per 3 population. Cannot be built on the same continent as the Capital. Requires: Navigation. Obsolete with: Radio.

The Silk Road (National Wonder): Increases gold generated by trade routes by 5% per civ provided: a) the other civ has also constructed the wonder; b) you and that civ have an active DoF. Requires: Currency. Obsolete with: Economics.

Edit:Corrected by Louis XXIV

I think quite a few of them will be a bit religious.

^ Cristo Redentor is already in the game :p

Well, I think there's a bit of a logjam with ancient wonders considering they're adding the Petra and there's the Ancient Wonders DLC. Spiral Minaret might work.

If they are considering the Apostolic Palace, I hope they'll go with St. Peter's Basilica instead.

Really? That is what I get for not playing Civ5 in almost a year, I really can't recall it at all, just no memory of it!

Its oft overlooked. Especially because most peoples games are over before then.

Well, I've gone for quite a few cultural victories (perhaps my favorite victory type these days).

These six seem certain, three announced and three with prepared artwork in the game files:

Panama Canal
Terracotta Army
Petra
Great Mosque of Djenne
Three Gorges Damn
Hadron Collider

Therefore, it's about guessing three more. My guess is they'll be the Spiral Minaret, Empire State Building, and Bamyan Buddha Statues.

The accidental patch that came early today revealed two new Religious natural wonders that will come with the expansion.

Uluru and Mt. Sinai.

Read more on 2k Forums about this. Did anyone manage to read a civilopedia description or something more about these 2 wonders prior to the rollback of the too early patch?

Accidental patch ?
What did it do ? I can't check right now because I haven't installed CiV.
