Wondering about Great General strategies

There should be a build in auto-retreat feature for leaders (only allowed once per stack-attack).

Or a better design for user control over leaders.

Yeah, right! And there should be build-in auto-win feature. Once you start the game you schould get a video. Congratilations, you won!

As for the generals - it is quite easy to churn out lvl 5 units which means almost invinsible defenders and almost unstoppable attackers; and when you got armor you probably will churn out lvl 6 units already (with the 4 points from the civics).

1st One - A Super Healer Medic III / +1 Movement Chariot. Keeps the SoD moving at top speed, and ensures I can build the Heroic Epic and West Point.
2nd One- Military Academy in Capitol
3rd One- Military Academy in HE/WP city
settle the rest

Well looking at Imp leaders they generally have synergy with their UUs or Traits.

If you war often enough... and settle all your GGs in 1 military City (with the exception of using you're first GG for a level 6 unit).

Khan will give you Fresh combat 5 units by the time you reach West Point

Cathy will give you Blitz or Commando Cossacks.

Victoris will get you high promoted Redcoats.

Cyrus has pretty obvious synergy,

The romans leaders are little more diffcult but I'm guessing you'd settle your 1st GG instead of attaching it as a warlord for early City Raider 2 Prats. Org/Imp Julius would make rexing a lot easier in peaceful game if you beeline to COLs.

I haven't tried the other Imp leaders in BTS but you could probably think up something creative.
