Wonders of Destruction 2

Most of those Israeli plane shots of the Lavi and the Me-109's are at their Air Force Museum. I've visited there, it's a cool place. Obviously the still frontline F-15's and such are elsewhere.

A bit of Swedish aviation history:

and finally JAS-39 Gripen (1993)

All 100% pure Swedish fighters, and all beauties (except for the J-29, which is one of the ugliest planes ever.)

There's also a OICW plan in the IDF.

An IDF demonstration. The TAR OICW fiber optic cable is seen coming out of the Tavor butt plate. The cable transfers all the fire control unit vital data to a heads up display (seen on the soldier's left eye). The soldier is also wearing the IDF new combat uniforms, design to enter service in 2003. The new uniforms are much lighter then old ones, have integrated pouches and will remain intact for longer periods under harsh field conditions.

The Israeli Military Industries (IMI), Elbit and the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) are devolving a future variant of the Tavor, very similar to the U.S. Army Objective Individual Combat Weapon (OICW) system. The new weapon is developed as part of the IDF Land Forces Command Future Infantry Warrior program.

A CAD model of the Tavor OICW.

The Tavor OICW is designed as an integral part of a new Israeli digitized infantry combat system and should provide an increase lethality compare to current use assault rifles.

The new weapon will host a highly advanced digital fire control unit made by Elbit, that will incorporate day/night sight, miniature laser rangefinder and a laser pointer as well as a fiber optic link to a heads-up display.

The fire control unit could also be linked to additional auxiliary devices such as a GPS and digital mini camera. This will enable the soldier to performs various functions such as activate the weapon's systems, to send wireless video feed and to report his positions by using just one system. IMI is also developing new more lethal ammunitions to be sued with the weapon.

Uhu, but i don't see any cool grenade launcher on it :p

...:D

Just for the heck of it, here is the mighty Tiger Tank! (PzKw VI)

Bullpup rifles ain't much to look at - but they're a helluva lot more accurate than standard build.

Oh, the yak was succesful, yes. But not nearly as good a plane as the Me 109 or the Spitfire. The yaks were immensely succesful and were mass produced in nauseating high numbers...

That's an interesting collection you have their Mik. But I wonder, what is the deal with these Assault rifles? I don't see any armies of the world equipped with those unsexy, and frankly quite ugly, pieces of equipment. They're equipped with good old M-16's and AK-47's...
