Work in progess and Previews

Also I have been working on a Chinese chariot, but I don't know what the warriors should look like, I am still not happy with their current models, But once I am done, I may make an African, Celtic, Greco-Roman, and Hindu version.

Gaelic and Chinese chariot
The Gaelic chariot would be a good base for making an Indian unit. Other than costume the key changes needed (imho) would be using an archer rather than a spearman and adding a chattra (parasol).

So, Shiro, How far do you plan on going with your Japanese pack? I could certainly use more Late Edo and Meiji Restoration units, if you make them.

Messing around with different configurations. Any suggestions?
Make the chattra (parasol) about half the diameter it is now. That is more like the historical look. Unit animations will show better - just as they would have more freedom of motion in RL. It's cloth on a wooden pole, so you have a lot of freedom both for the animations & whatever design you want for the civ color (solid, stripes, edge trim, etc.).

If you can, give the wheels more spokes.

Those are just details. It's an excellent model & I look forward to seeing it animated.

Chattra should be smaller than in the middle image?
I can't give the wheels more spokes, I didn't make the model.

Yes. Give a few minutes & I'll post a version of your picture with the size I'm suggesting marked.

That's fine.

The three green bars are the same width. The size of the blue area is identical in the first two versions. I did a CnP with the chattra at 75% the size of the middle version. Comparing that to the image below gives a good idea of the desired dimensions. The diameter should be about the same as from elbow to elbow with the arms straight out. It should also be high enough that it doesn't interfere with drawing or aiming the bow. Those two things together give the archer freedom of movement while keeping his eyes out of direct sunlight.

Here is what I have:

The chariots look great and I'm particularly looking forward to seeing the ratha/Indian chariot. Is there any chance of you doing a version of the middle chariot above as a British chariot? It'd be good to have as the Iceni (Boudicca) unique unit :).

Hooray, more chariots! The coolest war machine is always the first. :)

Gaelic and Chinese chariot
One small point, though: the Gaelic chariot should basically be a frame, hardly anything else "filling in" the (vertical) spaces like on most other chariots. Something like this:

@ Mithadan,I wish I had the right models for all the chariots, unfortunately I will have to stick with the one I have unless someone can provide me with a better one.
@ Rob its possible, as long as I only have to give them a British helmet or change the clothes a bit.

The chariots are on hold for the moment. I might release them this month but I'm working on a few other things.

At civ scale, could you just take your current chariot model and make the appropriate areas transparent, leaving what would pass for a Celtic chariot?
Does anyone know how to get in touch with Riptide or Bebro? Riptide made a model based on those schematics that BeBro used to make his Celtic chariot.

Hello Shiro,

I do not know if this is the right spot to post this or not, so please forgive me if this is incorrect. I know you didn't want any posts in your leaderhead library but this is the closest thing to the leaderhead thread you mentioned that I could find.
Anyway, I'm trying to download your Isabella leaderhead and it appears that the flcs are no longer available. I was wondering if you could please re-upload them, or point me to where I can download them, so those of us wanting that great leaderhead can download it.

Thanks in advance!
