Maccabee Warrior? Is that Dom's slinger?OMG, please, please finish and release these. I have been waiting for ages to be able to properly add Israel. Also if you could re-make the aging Maccabee Warrior I would be eternally grateful!
No real hurry, I still have my japanese packs to work onI think I posted some scans of the Osprey title "Ancient Armies of the Middle East," but that was so long ago I don't know if I'll be able to find them right away. But there's one or two Semitic dudes in there. I think there's also a Hasmonean soldier in my "Rome's Enemies: The Desert Frontier" Osprey book as well, I'll try to get a scan of that for you in the next few days (if you don't mind waiting).

Here you go, I found them already scanned in my Photobucket account:No real hurry, I still have my japanese packs to work on
I don't see that you'd have to simply make them wear Roman armor with Jewish symbols on them. For the "Classical" era, why not equip them like the Maccabeans -- as best as we know what that would have looked like, anyway -- and then go Palmyrene for late-antiquity(/Dark Ages)? Mind you, by that point everybody might have been imitating Roman equipment (apparently Cleopatra's Ptolemaic Egyptians did, and if the Masada movie is anything to go by -- it probably isn't, given that it's a movie! -- the Sicarii would have too).![]()
I'm not sure what direction the unit line should go. but here is my idea right now. As you know the problem is that for much of their history the people in the area have been ruled by foreign powers. So I think for the Classical and Dark age the warriors will wear Roman armor with Jewish symbols on them.
