Work in progess and Previews

Too bad.

For the attacks, you don't need any props. You can use a 2D plane with the symbol and transparency.
the problem with that is I dont have a symbol for every religion and I don't want to cut an paste one. Also, their attacks would not match Plotinus' religious units.

Good to see your still hanging out around here Ozy, but this is Shiro's thread, it would be rude to derail it from him. ;)

Your right, even though I'd do the same for Shiro :mischief:

Apologies one & all, I'll PM the Sword & take it offline.

Here is how I do it:
Take the initial image with PSP. Display the palette, make screenshot, save as bmp.

With PEdit, open an existing palette, where all the civcolour are cyan (for instance), so you know how to avoid them.

Open the bmp of your 256 colour palette. Then reassign the colour to the PEdit palette.

I can help if you want.

Also, you made Nara period (710-794), that would fit well for early medieval era in my mod, and are making Kamajura (1185-1333), suitable for late medieval era. But what about the Heian period, from 794 to 1185? It would be nice for the intermediate high medieval era.

Also, any progress on cavalry? Tell me if I can help, I'd like very much to add Japan and Egypt next in my mod. And... If you could make settlers and workers to accompany the military units, it would be really great.

Thanks to Vuldacon's palette, I have re-rendered all my kamakura era units with dark red as the civ color, which is also good, because it allows me to use blue as a non civ color, and now I don't have the problem I used to have, of the sword sometimes coming out as civ color.
I found out that my stone crossbowman is nearly half completed, it was a project I totally forgot I had, and will be added to the Kamakura era. I may add a few more units to this period. But I also want to revisit ancient Japan, I just got a great book on ancient Japanese armor, and also the ancient Japanese need some cavalry.

the problem is at civ scale and with the props I have, I don't think anyone could tell the difference between the armor of the two periods, I can hardly tell the difference in person.
So I am thinking about expanding the Yamato into Kofun and Asuka periods.

I'm not an expert in Japanese armor, so I can't really tell.

I just plan to have Nara, Heian and Kamakura periods, because I need 3 eras to match the ones from the other civs.

But I have no problem using the same units.

If you could just perhaps name your units with a bit broader name like "Nara/Heian" or "Heian/Kamakura" (I don't know which one is correct), to indicate for what era(s) the units could be used that would be sufficient for me.

If I remember correctly wasn't the Heian period the time immediately before the Shingoku era?

Waaaaaaay off. ;)

If you're referring to the war at the end of the Heian, that's the Gempei War. Following Heian is the Kamakura Period, which begins at the end of the 12th century.

The Sengoku Period begins around after the Onin War (1467).

There is no "Shingoku" period.

[OK, I've had enough of seeing inaccuracies in E.Asian representations here. :crazyeye: ]

Im glad he made that mistake cause he lured you to post :)

I wish you would return, Ogedei. Im all alone in 3d static now...

Also you have some great buildings, if you wanted to make a 1-building-per-town set they would go extremely well with my own :D
