A demo of AoM? Try getting some of the Expansion pack units too![]()
I need to check out to see how easy or tough it is to convert a unit from AoM before continuing, so the demo should allow me to go through the process first. For instance, converting units from Disciples II would have been close to impossible, the images were stored in a .FF fastfile format, and from the looks of it, that format is a binary format, so it cannot be read, unless decompiled first or grabbed directly from memory during runtime (what I said might not be right on, but it would take a great deal of work).
After about an hour, I converted Izual from D2. I initially thought there was going to be a problem with offsets due to different Image sizes for each FLC, but they all flow properly in game, so I won't need to worry about adjusting anything too much if I convert any further units.
Since the free JASC Animation Shop has close to no tools to work with at all, the mover tool had to be used to try to align the run.flc with the attack.flc 1 frame at a time (can't even do multiple frames at a time), so I decided not to include the death, default, etc because it would have become an extreme pain in the behind, but this short preview turned out well enough (although it is a little off).

As can be seen, there are some artifacts in the animation, and these are not from Flicster, or SBB... I initally thought they may have come from the D2 image exporter, but the artifacts show up there also, so it's possible that it is just how they are. I cannot clean up the few that there are (too much time if I convert many D2 units), but it is very easy to do.
If I do more D2 units (which I probably will), I will not be resizing any of them due to time constraints, so others can resize them if they choose to do so. Izual in game is quite large

EDIT: No Blizzard units will be converted
