Work in Progress - Conquests of Might and Magic III

I'm about to finish the 1000+ something Pedia entries for all the Heroes... Thank goodness for Excel and VBA so I could auto create them all!

I'm not 100% happy right now with how the Heroes are setup in the tech tree, but I will have to see how it currently works out first before I make any changes.

I've decided to make the Armageddon Spell a Nuclear Weapon, so it will add some excitement to the end game. I've made it a Wonder that is in the Fire Magic tech line. It will have some additional benefits for building it; and allows all civ's to build the Armageddon (Nuke) Spell; but all civ's that have not reached the Fire Magic tech will have slightly less capable Armageddon spells than those that have.

I need to make a cool graphic for the rest of the Nuke graphics. To counter the Armageddon Spell, reaching the 'Holy Grail' tech and building the civ's special Grail building will provide defense (same as Strategic Missile Defense). These Grail Buildings are powerful and the Grail resource is very rare. Also, there is 3 civilizations of each type you can play (3 Castle towns, 3 Rampart towns, 3 Necropolis towns, etc), but since Grail Building is a wonder, only 1 can be built per town type.

A very expensive SMD SW will be available also for those towns that can't build the Grail building.

I think this will add a bit more to the middle/end game. After all, there will be lots of units running around, and sometimes Armageddon may be the only way to help get rid of them! and keep the unit count from getting too high.

Here is the Energy Elemental; it took a bit more work to add the Lightning / Electrical Effects into it. I considered making the opacity of the electricity a bit more transparent; but I think it came out well enough.

Epic terrain is 100% done (I think); a few screens of the latest.

Here is some Mountainous and Rough terrain, along with Sands and a variety of other.

The Swamp, home to Gorgons and Basilisks.

Nice open Grassland. Be careful opening the Pandora's Box; you never know what's in it!

And the snowly lands (I think the snow could use some more texture)

HoMM3 Armageddon turned Civ 3 Nuke. I modeled and animated the asteroid and it looks pretty good (a bit different though) in game.

So do you think this will be playable and make sense for someone who doesn't have any familiarity with the Might and Magic series??

I'm going to release the Hell Terrain Set hopefully today... uses some HoMM3 terrain features, in prep of nearing CoMM3 release. I started this some time ago, but altered it a bit to ensure it can be used for random maps.
EDIT: Has been released.

Hell  a place no one wants to go or get stuck in... and a place no one can escape, only to remain there in torment and suffering forever.

Volcanoes, Craters, Lava Flows, waters of Blood, roads of flesh blood and skin, twisted creatures and unending nightmares.

Damned Souls are abound, populated with demons, in a frozen lake of blood and guilt.

Hell looks nice. :P

EPIC EDIT: It's AvLee, not Avlee LOL

In my own defense ;) the editor is not holding the L capital, but keeps reverting it back to lowercase! So there just may be nothing I can do about it! I could have sworn I entered it correctly long ago!

In other news, I am trying to get all the last knots tied. I may be able to get it released today, but please note, there will be some things that are unfinished; a few graphics here and there (some things might still be using the warrior graphic ); but all in all it is definitely play-worthy. I have not tested enough to ensure everything is gold-standard :), and also I have only tested on large maps. Not sure how smaller maps are.

If not today, then tomorrow; but I will try for today since I have lot of other stuff to do tomorrow and this weekend.

That's what we (those of us avidly following your progress on this mod) are here for. We will be more than happy to test this extensively and help you perfect your mod, Tom!

I'm so happy I might cry! :D-->:cry:

I will put it up tonight (in 5-6 hours from now), I would do it now but I don't have any more time.. gotta leave for a bit. I think everything is ready to go. Civilopedia still has some stuff missing, but it is mostly complete and functions with no crashing from missing entries. I will continue working on to get it up to par for some of the missing things (spell entries are not all completed, whereas units are).

A few things were omitted temporarily, one being telepad feature. Could put it in with the regular editor, but it would takes months doing each unit and clicking each telepad. So I will wait for Steph's updated version which may have it working.

I will put it up on Rapidshare, and MegaUpload? Mega only has a 45 (or 25) second wait time and is pretty quick with d/l speed (compared to non-member Rapidshare).

Sounds to me like your editor auto corrects errors. Nisus Writer (Mac) will auto correct typoes like "teh" and others for example. Check preferences and see if something like "auto correct" is checked.

Beta V1.0 has been released :)

I still have lots and lots to do, so I'm not by any means done.

Well, this is very welcome news! Heading over to the link to download right now!:goodjob:
