Images of Nestor, Capt. Haddock's butler:

Those might do for a domestic advisor.

Some others can be found here (many of them are resized/cropped versions of others)

BM you reminded me of John Carridine (father of David and Kieth). And John Houston (Angelica).
Which movies were they in as mad scientists? I'd like to see those - it's one of my favorite genres.

@KA: Hanuman is fine with me. In the Hindu myths he can do things like change size in the range gnat to giant, jump from India to Sri Lanka, lift mountain tops & carry them from one end of India to the other. So a giant blue ape is a perfect comic book incarnation.

Also, both GIMP & Graphic Converter have filters to make any image look like the old dotted color-separated comics. It might be an interesting effect for things like the advisors, 'pedia icons, or even the whole interface could be done in such a style. The samples below are not at all to show the difference between programs, but only which program was used. Both programs have several parameters that can be set, so quite a range of results are possible in either one.

I like GIMP's pixellation better. Is there any way to make it have smaller dots?

Emphasis added. There are differences in output between the two, but that is not displayed in the examples shown.

Both programs can achieve either result. Both allow adjustments for such things as size of dots, orientation of dots, degree of overlap, etc. Of the two examples I prefer the pixellation on the left for the most part. The overlapping R & B in the hair of the right example is nice, I think.

Lulz! BM, before I posted up that pic, I did just about the same thing. I did the mad scientist too! Yeah, the GIMP handles the Newsprint filter very well. I really love the filters that the GIMP has.

As said before, holy pixellation, Batman! That doctor reminds me of Doctor Hawkins in MDK I & II.

The pixellation is a cool idea but it's not the look I'm after. I found a source for the advisors over at EvilPlanet wiki:

Plenty to select from, for example the Matron (an Aunt May type character) or the Valet fits the bill as a Domestic Advisor. I guess it depends on whether good quality images can be obtained as I don't have the game.

I don't have this game but it's going cheap on Steam so I may purchase it to see whether I can get some better images.

:agree:I think it will be a lot of fun writing the script and pedia entries in general. In fact it's what I'm doing at the minute but inspiration is somewhat lacking and I've kinda wandered of into general googling.

Well, you've already decided on a different path, but I was thinking that you could have all six advisors be Tintin characters.
Domestic: Nestor, the butler
Trade: Oliveira da Figueira, Portuguese trader.
Military: Capt. Haddock.
Foreign: Emir Ben Kalish Ezab (not sure). Otherwise, Milou.
Culture: Bianca Castafiore.
Science: Prof.Tournesol/Calculus
Pity I couldn't post it earlier, blasted flu.

What's the world coming to when a man has to bump his own thread I ask you ;)

I have been beavering away at the scenario over the weekend after receiving a NEW MAP specially made for the scenario by Balthasar - brownie points go to whoever identifies the place the map is based on.

Faction Preview - The Celestial Order of Evil

The Celestial Order Of Evil was established 3000 years ago in the Far East. They have spent the millenia affecting the affairs of major civilizations and collecting ancient artifacts of prehuman origin.

It's the search for one particular artifact that has drawn the Order's attention to Civ City and they quickly established a base in the city's Chinatown district.

Faction Leader:
Fu Manzhu
An absolute master of arcane magic; Fu Manzhu possesses nearly unlimited knowledge of numerous mystical arts from all corners of the universe.

Big Bads:
Hanuman - an intelligent blue ape able to change size at will; often appearing giant-sized when fighting but also capable of shrinking down to fit inside the pocket of Fu Manzhu.

Arabian Knight - has sorcerous powers and a flying carpet gifted to him for his service to the Celestial Order of Evil.

Takhisis - actually a goddess but one whose powers are much diminished being kept in check by the Celestial Order so that she is forced to serve them.

Spacer One - rescued by the Celestial Order from the "Tunguska Incident" over 100 years, this alien has powers of telepathy and flight.

Minions:
Martial Artists - the members of Chinatown's warring gangs now follow Fu Manzhu. Using absolutely implausible and downright suicidal Martial Arts especially high-flying spinning kicks and other telegraphed moves.

Dragon Ladies - mysterious and overtly sexy. The Dragon Lady wears a qipao and knows martial arts. She favours killing with a silenced pistol or stabbing her victims with folding metal fans.

Ninjas - ultimate spies and assassins, gifted with their own deadly magic and martial arts. Born in hidden villages, they are trained from birth to obey, to show no pain, feel no emotion, and remain loyal to the Celestial Order under pain of death.

Cool Vehicle:
Celestial Flyers - flown by specialist pilots from the Himalayas who control these machines using only the power of thought.

Venice??!! You're not trying.

But assuming that the size of the map is an issue, here's a larger image:

And here are some details to ponder:

And another landmark, one of many multi-tiled buildings on this map:

That's all the clues I can provide. One more hint: the original map of this was made for a graphic novel and can be found online.

I can't read what the small green highway sign says. Otherwise I would know the answer. That is an incredibly beautiful city! I'm amazed it is even possible to do such a thing! In fact, I am in disbelief!

I think it is a conspiracy! ;)

I would say China near Xi'an City (Blue Dragon Temple); but that is probably wrong (even I think so).
Perhaps in Vancouver, B.C.? That is where Dragon Temple martial arts is

I know I am not even close!
