Worst Start in Civ?

Is this an earth Washington/BC/Alaska start? Pretty much any start in that area sucks.

Huh? that is a good start.
Crabs are great, and your capital is invulnerable to pre-indirect fire land units.
Sailing -> boats -> optics.

The only flaw is no goody huts lol. Can we get the save? I wanna play that.

Carthage requires a Great General to pass mountains. Good luck getting that on this map lol

You could go into the honour social policy tree to get your great general, would probably actually be worth taking honour for a change :lol:.

Perhaps not as bad as OPs but, well, meh, restart

I personally sort of like the thrill of a bad start. It puts you in a different mindset, and lets you sort of "roleplay" a little more. Just like in real life sometimes you can have a crappy start but that doesn't mean it should get you down. Trying to adapt while coming up with a new start besides just rushing NC is what keeps Civ V so fun for me. I just think that people shouldn't be so concentrated on beating everyone and just play with the cards your dealt. Granted I only play prince so what I doesn't really reflect higher level players, but I never restart even with crap starts. I might lose, but you can't win em all!

I'd like to play it, pity you didn't posted save file. :)

And yes, it is terrible.

Don't say to much, aren't old autosaves kept with another file extension, .old or something or is that another game. Anyhow, if there is such file, I will upload it.

Not a really worst possible start in-game, but meta-wise... I decided to finally try Venice and failed to get a proper coastal start and to find any City-States by the time I got optics despite doing my best to scout around. Instead of a proper coast, I was on the shore of a medium-sized inland sea. After getting all hyped up about being a maritime superpower and buying City-States left and right, that was a huge letdown.

I ragequit, started a new game and enjoyed some [Ve]nice gameplay after realizing the true nature of the sea.
