What do you think was the worst version of Windows yet by Microsoft, now in the poll I am putting only the ones that have got a lot of bad press.

I think the worst so far is Windows 8. They changed so much and in my opinion did little regarding there user base. Trying to use a SmartPhone/Tablet OS on a PC was just a bad idea. Its very user unfriendly and has a steep learning curve. You lose a lot of the functionality in Windows 8. Microsoft should have payed attention to the old saying "if it broke don't fix it". The worst thing they did was they took out the start menu and no way outside of third party programs to bring it back.

This video basically sums up my thoughts on Windows 8

How can you possibly think Windows 8 is worse than Windows 7?

Name one single use-case in which it performs worse than Windows 7, where you're using Windows 7 in the correct way. Seriously, name one.

None of your poll options are even reasonable, every one of them was unequivocally objectively a better operating system than its immediate predecessor, with Windows ME being the only one you could maaaybe make a case for - even then, ME wasn't even particularly worse than 98 SE, it was just worse than 2000 which was out at the same time.

Windows 1.0 was obviously the worst version of Windows.

Windows 8 is all flash and no function. The UI and start screen just SUCK.

I see you can't provide a use case either.

I told you already, I can't stick as many icons neately in windows 8 as in windows 7 unlick I click away from the default boot and visually the default boot looks like crap on a non touch PC. The blocky UI sucks.

Yeah, some at MS decided it was a good idea to make it full-screen.

What does this mean?

I have always heard really nasty things about Windows ME but I don't know why. What was it's problem(s).

I have Vista on my laptop, it's meh. It takes forever to boot and asks for permission way too much, but it's not terrible by any means.

It suffered from all the compatibility problems that new operating systems do, but was only on the market for a year before being replaced by the much better XP, so was never really available as a mature operating system.

Furthermore, enthusiasts who weren't particularly concerned about games were already using 2000 which was released half a year before Windows ME, and was also a much better OS than than ME.

(Basically, 2000 was to ME was to XP as Vista was to XP SP3 was to Win7)

What does this mean?

In Windows 8, instead of having a little start menu in the bottom left corner of your desktop, you have one that takes up the full screen instead.

The start screen and Metro UI both SUCK terribly. That is why I HATE Windows 8. When the user interface is clunky and unwieldy it ruins the whole OS.

Why? What does the start screen do any worse than the start menu?

Its clunky and unwieldy. It does not work on a PC.

Desktop and Start Menu>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Metro and Start Screen

I hope Windows 8 fails worse than Vista and Microsoft gets rid of all that crap with Windows 9.
