Is this concern about food in stores an acknowledgement that almost half the food consumed in the US is produced in California? If so, don't worry, an independent California would still export food so you won't go hungry.

Or is it just another piece of your false narrative about how great the red states are doing under their nineteenth century leadership?
Well it's not that i am particularity concerned, more like amused, but perhaps it is worth pointing out that Zimbabwe was a major food producer and exporter and then went straight to famines within a few years. And yes they also were big on printing money. This picture is the same in every country infected with people putting lies above reality. (aka liberals)

Zimbabwe faced an aggregate supply shock when Mugabe removed the people who knew how to farm and replaced them with the people who would need a generation of learning to reach previous production levels. Not sure how that's relevant as there will be no talent purge here.

Quite the opposite. People with talent have flocked to the state of California for generations. More likely that would increase than decrease with independence.

Yes, Mugabe's affirmative action was quite a success. Problem is, a generation has already passed, and there's still no food.

And the problem with trying to converse with you is that a generation worth of facts can pass, but there's still no thought. You pull totally disconnected historical tidbits and toss them like relevant facts, then just dig in your heels. Bet that's a barrel of laughs in real life.

Zimbabwe bottomed out 5 years ago, and has since tripled its GDP/capita, currently the highest it's been since 1983 and nearing it's Rhodesian peak (all measured in 2013 US dollars).

"Liberia was independent Americans, so that will be like California"
"Zimbabwe grew food and prints money, so that will be like California"

Should Cali ever separate, that will be the case yes, and you will be sitting here wondering why it happened.

And the mechanisms for this are what? That we have the identity of "liberal"? And that connects to African states?

the mechanisms will be the same as with any other deluded group of people thinking they are grown ups. China will not buy any of your stuff, the US will put an import tax, both will instead lure all of these "talents" away with more money, and them being "citizens of the world" they will relocate at the speed of light, having zero loyalty towards California whatsoever. You will run out of money, the social structure will collapse, all those "oppressed" lower class people will start the infighting and seek a strong person offering simple solutions to complex problems, then the civil war starts and at this point the US forces will move in and clean the place, out of pity probably. And that's the difference to African states.

Or they just become, like, another Canada.

China will stop buying our stuff because we aren't grownups. The rest of the USA will put an arbitrary tariff on California because we aren't grownups. This is historically grounded, theoretically sound logic how?

"Grownups" is not a causal mechanism. Demand for the product made in the Tesla factory in Fremont is.

Make up your mind, are we going to run out of money or print too much?

Shenanigans?

What do you mean by Canadian shenanigans?

They aren't exactly Canadian, but it's the same line of thought that urges these poor souls to seek their own state at this point in time.

So when you say "Canada is financing its shenanigans with oil export and other natural resources" what does that mean, then? Are the shenanigans being a sovereign country? That can't be it.
