Would you watch a movie that portrays the live of Hitler in a positive light?

The poll didn't work, but here were my options:
1) No, a man who killed 11million shouldn't be portrayed in a positive light.
2) As long as they don't make the Holocaust a good thing, I don't mind the rest of his life being portrayed positively
3) I'd watch it just to see how the director will pull it off
4) It's about time. I'm tired of Hitler being portrayed as an evil man
5) Only if there's a cool Panzer chase through the streets of Stalingrad.

I hate historical inaccuracy in movies, and I don't think you can portray Hitler in a good light without some considerable historical inaccuracy, so I'd be much disinclined to watch it.

I wouldn't refuse to see it on principle, tho.

I don't think if it was a load of biased crap. However, if it were a portrayal of his early life or something, maybe.

Yeah I agree (with the last conformist). If it distorts the truth (or otherwise lies), the no, I wouldn't watch it. But if it highlights some of Hitler's good points while ignoring the bad points (e.g. if Hitler was good at tennis or something), I wouldn't be "against" watching it, although I may still not watch it if it's crap.

The only way they could portray him positively is to leave out everything to do with the war, holocaust, his rise to power, etc.. so the movie have very little to discuss and it would be boring.

Even if you hate Hitler, you have to admit that such a movie would be interesting. I am going with option #3.

Let's see...

He liked children, ballroom dancing, and his dogs. There's 3 positives.

And being a vegetarian, he suffered severe flatulence, so you could have a running joke about him breaking wind at inopportune moments.

I'd suggest casting the husband/wife team of Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker as Adolph and Eva.

A positive light?

The formation of Israel, the death-knell of the European Empires, Soviet Hegemony over the old Monarchies of Central Europe, the deaths of tens of millions, the ruination of so many lives, a financial burden that lasted as a legacy for decades (still with us Brits as we've still a few years before the Americans are paid off).

The only positives that I can see is that the Japanese, Germans and Italians were crippled as expansionistic states that threaten World Peace. However, these were replaced in equal measure by China and Russia and also by countless independent 3rd World countries.

It would have been better if someone could have appreciated Hitlers artwork, however awful it was ;)

I'd watch it if it was entertaining.

Soviet Hegemony over the old Monarchies of Central Europe,

I beg your pardon? Old monarchies? What are you talking about?

In central Europe was Czechoslovakia (democratic republic), Poland (semi-fascist regime), Hungary (tha same), Austria (Republic)...

Yeah I'd watch it, that doesn't mean I would approve of the message, but I would watch Communist propaganda movies to if they were entertaining.

Why would you censor what you watch, are you afraid it might affect you or something?

I might watch it just for fun.

What about his traumatic childhood (Drama) or his service during WW1(Action/Drama)? Thouse could prove quite interesting...

My choice is between 3 and 4. 4 not because Hitler wasn't evil, it's just that his evil has been well documented. Time for change!

I'd watch it. Presumably such a movie would attempt to justify Hitler's actions by showing the emotional torment he had to go through, or perhaps as a man corrupted by others?

In any case, it would be a very interesting movie. Not s interesting as a movie where Communazis try to conquer the world though.

I think it would be interesting to see different perspectives on Hitler; he did some very evil things, but it would make a change to see him portrayed in a different light.

If the plot was good, I'd watch it.

Entertainment doesn't have to be accurate or unbiased. Otherwise "Warship Potemkin" or "Wines of Wrath" would be utter crap.

probably option 3 and/or 4. Not that I think he was a good guy, but the history chanel has just been beating a dead horse for so long I'd like to see the other sides perspective even if I do think it's all lies.
