Ok, everyone else is in so we are close. We are trying the LOR game first, correct? I just need to get the turn order correct. I do have the ability to edit it, so we can try both. I will set it up to reflect LOR first, and then I will load my turn again, do it again, and upload it to get sent to Knoedel. If that doesnt work we will try the BTS game, I will revise the order, Hawklord can re-do his turn and then send the save to Knoedel using the tracker.

And if neither of those works, then we will try my idea of launching with me instead of Eclipse!

I just want to say why I changed the order, it was very late and as the world turned Europe would have been the first ones available to play

Yes if both versions crash and burn then yes please remake and launch

My opinion is generally to go past PG and into "R" territory but always fall just short of "X"!

It must be something on your PC Imp. Looks like you might have to re-install civ, maybe it's become corrupt.

Yes try reinstalling civ knoedel. If that doesn't work let us know and ill try restarting the game. There's a number of things it could be so don't get too depressed yet!!

I'm going to try starting up a new game tonight for this game. I really do think it could have something to do with Eclipse being the launcher since he has messed with other mods other than LOR before.

I'll try using LOR first since that seems to be the consensus preference, and then I'll also use regular BTS after that if LOR doesnt work. The turn order will go to Knoedel right after me so we can try to get it past him.

Also, re: Eclipse's email last night, I personally would be THRILLED to have his son join the game. As far as I'm concerned, the more the merrier. He will pick up the game fast, and PBEM games are so slow to begin with, he will learn how to play before we even get to the classical age

If Hawklord and Knoedel don't mind commenting on this addition, let's try to figure this out in the next 10 hours so I can launch properly tonight, either with or without "Lil Eclipse"

I successfully launched a game one hour ago and sent the file to Eclipse, the plan is that he sends it to you, you send it to Hawklord and he then back to me. If that all works without a problem we will restart with Eclipse´s son.

I believe an introduction would fare well here.

As I'm sure you all have heard, and for those who haven't, I am Eclipse4449's youngest son. I would like to start by giving a deserving thank you to you all for letting me join in this endeavor.

As a second point, I would like to stress the fact that I am quite the novice when it comes to the Civilization series. My experience with Sid Meier games is quite limited. When I was young my father taught me the basics of the wonderful Alpha Centauri and its expansion Alien Crossfire. However this was many years ago, and the process of familiarizing myself to Civ4 has been a slow at best.

As my dad has explained to me, the true purpose of [BTS]Writing in Gunpowder is to tell of your tale as a leader. To spin the yarn of adventure within these forum. As a writer as well as a gamer this rare opportunity doesn't come around often and I'm thrilled to be a part of it.

However unlearned I am with the game I hope my ability to write will overcome any suspicions.

As in true Civilization fashion, today we are all friends and the days to come are unclear. As The Lord Lytton once said, "The pen is mightier than the sword."

But may the pen compliment the sword in the days to come.

Ok lets try this my way - I have launched numerous games without issue and both Knoedel and Eclipse are running just fine in the "18" game which I started and is regular BTS.



I sent a turn through email for Knoedel - try it and if it works pass to Hawklord then Eclipse and if it makes it all the way around I will relaunch with regular BTS with Eclipse's son with a proper turn order that makes sense and we will launch for real. I really think this will work!



I'm also sending it through PBEM tracker to KNoedel as a secondary option, try both!


Lastly - welcome Qlockwork!!! You will pick up the game fast and I look forward to reading your stories!

OH NO! We are just missing something, I know we've tried many things now but the SIMPLE FACT is that the 18 player game works, you've had fresh turns come at you from every direction to include starting with yourself, I'm puzzled!

There is an important note here though "You shouldn't fix something that isn't broke". I'm just saying this because something changed, did you update your video drivers". The turn you made and sent me was a LoR type not a BTS, so if the 18 player game is strickly vanilla and that is compatible with (just guessing) a European version but LoR is less compatible, just go completely Vanilla
