WW2-Global

Rocoteh,

If you never did any scenario work again, you would still be accounted among the greatest (in my experience the greatest) scenario creators ever. Nobody could begrudge you taking as much time as you need to take care of anything that comes up in your life.

Good luck with your problems - I hope they're resolved soon, and I hope that you remain healthy and happy.

I'm so sorry that I'm back to CFC when Rocoteh is actually leaving :(

anyway, as some already mentioned, you're the best Scenario Creator plus you're a good person and very likely as someone that always help people dealing with problems . so now we'all wish you good luck in the Real-Life and dealing the problems faster so you come back and respond on my posts :)

BTW Hello Adler17, I'm also glad to see you after long time no Civing since financial problems and important examines . .
I'm about to Install C3C and rockkk again hahaha .. I'm glad to be a part of this huge CFC Community .

sinister?
What are you talking about Simon Darkshade?

It's simple Latin.

In WW2 news, one's efforts to prevent the Gotterdamerung of the RM are progressing nicely. Will expand upon it once the MN is similarly dealt with.

I have decided to halt all Civ 3 related projects I work with.

The reason is problems, severe problems in the world outside Civ.

I have now worked with scenario-creation for 4 years.
I will not quitt but I must allocate my time the coming weeks to
deal with above mentioned problems.

Note that my work with the scenarios during the years is no-profit work.
I will never get one single dollar for all the hours and days I have invested in
my scenarios.

During the coming weeks I will not have time to answer posts.
I will read them though.

Rocoteh

And nobody will think any less of you for taking some time for yourself. You've dedicated a lot to this community, and you DESERVE to take a break on occasion.

I do hope that everything works out for you. And if nobody has ever said it before (they probably have): Thank You for all the work you've done. And I'm sure that some of the generous scenario/mod makers here would be more than happy to answer some questions that may arise.

And Gattamelata is correct. You WILL be one of the greatest mod makers of all time, should you choose to not don the Civ 3 mod equipment would be irrelevent. Greatness never dimishes.

Thank you so very much for all that you have done.

The very best wishes possible,

Tank Guy#3

I salute you God of Mod :salute: :salute: :salute: :salute:

This is perhaps a stupid suggestion since it might be already implemented.

Light tanks should be able to traverse Mountains and jungles to make them useful in Asia/Africa/South America and better reflect the need for small tanks in those theatres.

All the best

Rocoteh best wishes to you hope everything works out for the best and you can return soon.and i agree with everyone else your mod work is unmatched even by the ones that created this game.thanks for all your hard work.:)

Week 31 1941: My review of both friend and foe F3 shows that there is a significant air war going on in Northern Europe or

Scandanavia. The British lost 62 bombers this week! The USSR has lost about half of their air strenth. I am fighting an air war of attrition in Asia and the USSR is getting the worse of it. In dogfights I'm winning about 10 to 1 and I am destroying the USSR new deployment of more than 25 aircraft each week on the ground. I have not yet observed any Armoured units in either Europe (scout aircraft from CVEs or Faeroe Islands) or Asia so I can only conclude that they are on there way to contest the invasion of Mongolia and Manchuria. I believe this campaign will decide the war! I have transferred all of my land based bombers and fighters to Asia. I have only left some old carrier types in N America as a rear guard in case Mexico et al decides to get aggressive now that there are very few units left in the USA. I sortie my remaining vessels in the Atlantic covering my 12 new carriers with a comlete complement of aircraft and the 9 new BBs going to the North Sea to assist the Brits. I have also sent a small landing force just in case there is a tactical moment to use them.

The British Units landed south of Vladivastok are not heading to Amgu but toward Ansi (have they spotted the phantom tanks.)
I use the Naval Bombardment to demolish the units and then assault using my old Tanks; destroying 11 Infantry, garrisons and two artillery units with no losses. I occupy Amgu with 7 Units. I am sending all of my available reserve units to Vladivastok to assist with the suppression of the resisters.

I send a small carrier force (CVEs and destroyers) to raid Anadyr and prepare for an invasion of Siberia and the Kamchatka peninsula from Alaska.

No change in Europe

Week 32, Possible major tank engagement. Both the British and Soviets each lose over 50 tanks. British also lose 6 CLs (perhaps to Soviet subs?) I continue my air suppression and look to send the forces necessary to take Khabarovsk. My bombardment fleet moves to Vanino. Another British landing near Vladivastok along with another large Chinese Cavalry group moves to attack the Soviet positions with my border.

No Change in Europe

Week 33 An apparantly endless sortie of British Bombers passes through my scout area from one of their cities (possibly Su-Chou) to a destination somewhere Southwest of Irkutsk. I will check that area with my longest range plane to see if I can locate their attack force next turn. Usual air suppression and I prepare to assault Khabarovsk and Vanino next week. Half of the population of the cities captured still resisting. I will be happy when my "convoys" arrive in four and five weeks to add another 64 ground units to assist with the suppression of the resisting population or defense againest the impending battle.

Still no change in Europe (China still holds Warsaw!?)

Week 34 to Week 44: Ongoing air suppression. It takes about 5 more ground units than the city size for two weeks to pacify a rebellious city after capture, we capture: After an unsuccessful British assault on Khabarovsk I move my land units to attack including 8 Artillery and 14 Tanks. Use SBDs and artillery to demolish the units and attack with tanks. Too many units - I do not lose any but they had more units than me; I take the city with reinforcements the next week and send to Vanino the Transports to assault the demolished city the following week with success. Vladivastok has been suppressed, finally freeing a dozen or so land units. The British and Russians continue to "lose" tanks and Kishinev and Lwow have been retaken by the USSR. The Nazis keep getting stronger (they are now building SSPz 1943s.)

USA next assault is to capture Komsomolsk. Same tactics as before. SBDs, B-25s, Artillery and the refreshed Tanks. This time it falls after 2 weeks of bombardment before the assault; and on week 44 using the same tactics, Chagda succumbs.

Week 43, 1941: Two successful Bombardment and then invasions capturing Ockhosk and Anadyr. The First sign of Tanks are coming. Previously the Chinese had successfully captured Irkust after a presumably unsuccessful attack. The remaining attacks made by the Allies in Mongolia have met with failure. British, French, Chinese and a small Dutch force Labored to attack Kumara in the East and Tjita in the West but to no avail. They were successfully defended by the USSR without Tanks!

Week 44 The Nazis start an offensive againest Venice using their new armour. From my Central Italian Airbase I use my P-38s, B-25s, a few SBDs, and my new B17s to assists in the defense. Chinese Warsaw finally falls to the Nazis. Venice Holds!

Week 45, 1941 through Week 1, 1942: The Red Tanks arrive in force! Over 100 T-34s, KV-1s, and new SU-122s are approaching(without roads or air cover) Irkutsk and Ulan Bator from the West and South. Since they are damaged I am assuming that these are some of the survivors from the attrition battles over the last 10weeks between USSR and Brits. I see Brits and French heading North from Ansi to Ulan Bator passing in front of Lanchow(usa owned.) USA will send 23 Tanks (M2A2, Stuarts, and 3 new Shermans) and 11 M-10s followed by 5 Marines and 9 Inf into the Battle. Only the Marines survive but neither city falls. Great Fun!!! The USSR lost almost 300 Tanks and as many Infantry and Persia accepts their peace terms as the Chinese were about to take Tjita and Kumara.

But this does not give us our domination victory -- The allies are only at 52% Area and 70% Population.

To our fearless Leader "R" -- for your amusement.

Aecon!

To be continued..............

Rochotech good luck in all your endevours and thanks for creating this wonderful scenario. I hope that eventually you will be able to return.

Hi there! I´m new here and i have some questions...
first of all i want to say that this is the best mod i´ve eveer played!!!
Will there be an graphic update? its boring to see the same skins for german tanks all the time. can do this somebody of you?

Germany SID v 2.4

First let me add my good wishes to Rocoteh. What has made WW2Global what it is has been his continous review and response to each and every posting. This builds community. Unfortunately he won't be able to do this for a while but I hope we all pitch in and respond to others. Posting without response falls off.

So let me first do the post I intended and then respond to a few others. Of course, real life won't let me do as much as I would like but I hope other veterans help out.

Anyway, this report is for the year 1941 –

The year was long as we traded tanks with the Russians until

Week 10 when the Romainian reached a peace accord with the Russians. This let us focus new units on the Western front (too dangerous to totally redeploy).

Russians are not leaving our territory but we do not challenge them – we need to finish off the French.

Week 12 We took Lyon which means we are near the end of the French on the continent.

Week 17 Bordeaux

Week 19 Toulouse

Week 22 Marseilles

Week 28 Brest is ours which finishes off the French on the continent

British forces are on our Eastern front – We bomb them so they cannot make much progress but they are beginning to show up in some force.

Start to build up for invasion of British Isles but I estimate I will need to land with at least 40 units and have another 80 for ready reinforcement. Concern is obviously that the Russians will attack when I have forces engaged. Will need more artillery because British air too strong for Luftwaffe (not to speak of falling way behind in tech). Fortunately the British are spawning battleships rather than building armor. We need to take out Gibraltar first to protect our Southern flank.

Week 38 – Great Britain declares war on Soviets – this could be a good opportunity but our fleet and units are not ready –we are close to capturing Gibraltar but it has taken a lot of units.

Russians leave our territory – presumably battles somewhere in the East – we move our border infantry forward to wall off the Russians.

Week 46 – Just about two weeks to go for our invasion and…Russia declares war on us. However, they don’t appear in force on our front.

Clearly Russians have upgraded fighters as the Luftwaffe is losing units although we still dominate.

Week 48 – We take Gomel

Week 49 – Gibraltar falls! Good so we can focus on the Russians – wherever they are

Week 50 – Russians and Allies reach peace – I think I will see the Russians soon Russians took two Persian cities before they reached the peace accord.

Week 51 – We take Dniepropetrosvsk but probably will not hold it. Russians appear in HUGE stacks. One stack has over 80 armored units. I fear this is the highpoint for the Reich.

Week 52 Russians take Dniepropetrosvsk

OOB does not look good –

Highpoints –

Russia
187 T34s
820 infantry
103 KV1

Germany
70 Infantry
55 German 88s
57 Panzer III-G

Great Britain
340 Matilda 2
42 Comet
154 British Infantry

Reviewing the global map –

Italians are out of Africa

Japan has reached Hanoi
China is down to three cities excluding mountain cities
No changes on Russian/Japanese front
Hiroshima has been razed – Rocoteh – if there is another version something has to be done about making it harder for Americans to invade Japan – either beefed up defenses for the cities or mines or something. These early raids on Hirsoshima are not realistic.
British have taken Taipei, Manila, Palembang and Benjarmasin. Americans have Guam and Saipan and Davao.

I will continue the playtest for a while (I am two weeks from Land 1941 tech). However, I don’t see a victory for the Axis. Without mobilization the higher difficulty levels will be a real challenge.

Aecon -

Excellent game going on. The British are really agressive which usually does not happen. What do you think was the tipping point for you?

The Storm Series team will be making a Storm Over World scenario. While this scenario isn't WW2-Global, it is the same idea.

Wait for Storm Over Europe for every WW2 unit in Europe.

My theory is the economic levels of the nations determine aggression. "R" and I have been surprised that the British are actually conquering the world almost single-handedly since the beginning of the scenario. I have played the USA in a very secondary role. 7 turn tech, 300 workers, about 350 ground units, maintaining the navy at start plus only an additional 9 BBs and 12 CVs (14 CVEs) and 500 aircraft. Half of my cities are on "wealth." I give the allies all but a couple of 100 gold per turn!

The Brits have averaged over 1000 gold per turn since about week 44, 1939 from lend lease.

My next play test will be ver 2.4 Italy or Finland Sid but will modify the map to add 1000 gold to Germany to increase its aggressiveness.

(unless of course you would rather try that yourself - Then I will try it with the USSR)

If this works, Perhaps we can save "R" the massive amount of time needed to make different scenario modifications for each playable nation and instead just increase the AI nations Economy to increase the effective AI play.

Any Comments?

How did China get Warsaw ?????
Was it Commie China or Nationalist China that took the city?
