Thank you for the instructions, Rocoteh. I have moved the saves and was going to move the giant one, but when I chose explore, I was told the file was invalid or corrupt. AHA! there's the problem!

Well, looks like I'm looking at another download. If I'm lucky the rents will let me do it overnight this time. *fingers crossed*

psweetman1590,

I really hope it will work.

Played 5 turns today (long loading times).

I think that Japan not being able to build Tanks is a good descion :goodjob: Forces me to look towards the Dutch East Indies! Though there is some oil near Chunking I have my eye on....

Anyways -

Ai turn 1 - 2 Northern Spanish cities razed, don't know who by. Spain declares war on Germany.

Ai turn 3 - Germany destroys Poland, Italy destroys Yugoslavia. They captured the cities, no razing.

As for me Japanese forces, well by turn 5 I have taken 2 Chinese cities (Canton and Foochow.......sorry I think I spelling that wrong) and lost alot of my Naval forces to the Americans, though in return I have sunk a load of their subs and destroyers.

Alll in all, I say that playing as Japan is turning out to very fun :) And quite difficult as you said Rocoteh! I am enjoying the challenge.

ComradeDavo,

Thank you.

AI razing cities is a problem. One can only hope there will be
a "never raze" option in Civ 4.

Interesting comment on Japan.

I had some plans to change Japan initial resources, but I think
I will wait with that.

No doubt, Japan is the hardest Civ to play.

I played as the Soviet Union today, made it to week 51, 1939.

The same thing happened to me in regards to Spain: it fights both the Allies and the Axis, and gets its northern cities razed right away. I think this happens every game, because I played as the USA for a little bit yesterday. They are a little boring due to the lack of units at the begining.

Anyway, I declared war on Poland on the first turn, and took Lodz and Warsaw within two weeks. Germany got Danzing. I then made peace with the Allies as soon as possible (around week 45). My plan was to either wait for Germany to declare war on me, or invade Finland early in '40.

As for the AI: In both my games, Italy took Yougoslavia and then moved on toward Turkey. Japan seems to be slow in its Chineese conquests, though takes the Phillipeans failry early. Germany fights France tooth and nail, and took France around week 48. All in all, very accurate, and even what isn't accurate (Italian invasion of Turkey) is believable.

I probably won't play for a while, as I'll be getting some new games tomorrow, but when I come back to Civ (and I always do), this is the scenario I'm coming back to. This is just as good as I hoped it would be and more. Thanks Rocoteh, and happy holidays.

shortej,

Thank you.

I will se what I can to prevent the nothern cities in Spain
from being razed.
As you say, with the exception of Italy attacking Turkey
the rest is accurate.

I am really glad to hear that you think WW2-Global holds the quality
that you expected. Hope to hear more from you in the future.

VERY IMPOTRANT:

When I write this there is a large difference between downloads
of the 94.4 MB folder and the biq-file. 488 and 788!!!

You must download both of them if you want the scenario to run!

Have you ask Rocoteh for a permission to do that? If you mod someones mod and you intend to load it up, always ask before doing this...and to post it here doesn't make it any better. You say it is not really good (I guess mainly because of removing units etc. for performance resons) and you post in here in the thread for WW2 global, a scenario which has the intension to be as accurate, detailed and realistic as possible. That doesn't fit together.

Nothing against more "simple" war scenarios -they can be sometimes as well fun to play, especially if you are short on time or your CPU is older- but then it makes more sense to create your own and post it a seperate thread (or to modify one of the "simpler" ones, if the author allows it), instead of crippling a great scenario which has the opposite intention.Believe me, you will cripple it, if you haven't created it and try to change it that way - thats just not good. The only one who can (and perhaps will) make a "faster" version which is still as good as the orginal is Rocoteh, because know this scenario best and he has the immense wisdom in war history to make it still accurate.

Just a quick note to Rocoteh. I downloaded this the other day and have played a few turns as Germany at Emperor level. I just gotta say WOW! I am really having fun with this version. I will post some playtest report later. I love the U-boats, very strong on the offense and very poor on defense, perfect. More later, and happy holidays. :goodjob:

General comment:

If you plan to release your own version of WW2-Global, please
contact me first.

Within 1 or 2 days I will probably release WW2-Global 1.1 with
bug-fixes, changed stats and better play-balance.

Where the scenario will be 4 weeks from now I do not know.
It depends on the reactions and posts from you the players.

DrNick,

Thank you. I am really glad to hear that you liked WW2-Global.
The importance of the U-boats will be stressed further in verson 1.1.

I looking forward to the playtest-reports.

Best Regards and happy holidays.

Rocoteh,

I only can say one thing: you did it again :goodjob: , I started with the chinese a few days ago but the japanese army was really beating me badly  . I'll try again with Italy in a few days.

The game is great I think that any time is harder be in your level, I really love it.

About spain I recomed to have it with the lowest agression level possible, after a civil war Spain wasn't in the mood for more wars. That's the main reason why Franco avoid the german proposals to go to war.

hi i just downloaded it but it doesnt work.
i have the folder in the right place and evrything, but evry time after i chose my civ, it exits to the computer

What do you mean by exit? Are you getting an error, and if, whats the error line? It is important to locate the problem.

Have u installed the c3c 1.22 patch. ????. and are u sure u have the folder in the C3c scen. folder. ??

FuTuREteCh,

Have you tested this?

1. Choose the "huge" download, 94.4 MB.

2. Right click on it.

3. Choose Explore.

4. Now you will see the WW2-Global folder. Choose copy.

5. Locate the Scenarios-folder in Conquests. Choose it and then
choose paste. It will take some time since it is 94.4 MB.

6. Repeat the above procedure with the biq-file (the small download).

7.Choose the saved-games download. Choose extract files.
Choose browse. Locate the Saves folder that belong to Conquests.
Extract the saved-games into that folder.

Metacomet,

Its really good to hear from you again.

Yes, you are right on Spain: 3 years of Civil War had made it
a "House Divided".

Playing China is very hard. The front should be a deadlock, if
not Japan push in huge forces.

Italy is also hard. The low stats on Italian infantry is due
to the fact that as late as July 1940 Italian infantry divisions
was below 40% in strenght. The great failure in the desert fall 1940
also showed the low combat morale Italian infantry had.
Less known is that the Italian artillery-men fought with great
bravery and refused to surrender.
Italian fighter-pilots were also competent.
High tank-costs reflect the fact that Italy never managed
to create more than 3 armoured divisions during the war:
Ariete, Littorio and Centauro.
