I am still building infrastructure (Week 41, 1939 if I remember correctly), so my reinforcements are only coming from drafting. However, at 11.11, the Japanese infantry makes for a viable attack force (at least against the Chinese and Soviet non-armor). I wouldn't dream of trying to take on the British until I could build Marines and Heavy Artillery.

Secondly, I am playing off the japan save you posted, quite fun. A quick thought/impression, is that that OTSU class submarine is too strong for the price. Plus it gets to attack mutliple times. 70 shields for a 34/10/6 unit when a comparible surface unit costs over 300 shileds. I have only used 3 of them sofar but am quite amazed at what damage they can deliver. I am not a Pacific theatre buff so I dont know, maybe they were that good.

I was worried about long load times (1.4 GHz and 128 MBRAM), but after a slow 6-8 turns the smaller number of naval units and loss of a few minor civs (Poland, Thailand, Denmark) has helped enormously.
I have only one major question: it was my understanding (and I could be mistaken) that Finland only joined with Nazi Germany when the USSR invaded. I see the difficulty of implementing this in game terms, but it feels really weird to have Finnish units running through Soviet territory to attack Persia. Something to think about, at least.
I've been playing as Britain and it's now Week 44 (I think) of 1939. The whole German navy has, as far as I can tell, been wiped out. The Italian navy is, I believe, down to 1 BB and no small craft. So far, I've lost no capital ships in the Atlantic, and only a handful of DDs and SSs. I've taken out Thailand and most of Italian Africa, but France is starting to look really weak. Poland is gone, and the Japanese have taken Chungking (!) and wiped out my navy in Hong Kong. I have only a slight idea if I'm winning or losing; the mod is that great!
About the UBoats: I didn't have a whole lot of trouble dealing with the German navy onturns 1-5, but I believe that is due to poor German AI tactics than an inherent weakness in stats. I would just sit my ships in port and hit and run the small German ships with CLs or SSs, then bombard the larger ships with BBs and return to port. The Germans would maybe pick off an exposed DD between Iceland and Ireland with the Scharnhorst, and return to the North Sea (and the guns of my capital ships). I doubt pushing the attack strength of UBoats would have made this task any harder, because I prevented the UBoats from attacking at all (by leaving my ships in port IBT)!

1) The pacific Ocean is now freed from all US navy.
-> We had a last epic battle against a new US Iowa class 100.80.6 ! against 6 of my Yamatos. He was crushed after damaging some of my ships.
2) The US army has been wiped out from all their remnant islands in the Pacific, taking hight air casualties (they lost all their B17 planes).
-> The only islands not under control are : Australia (British), New Zealand (British) and Caledonia (French) but it's just a matter of time now...
3) I begun a large scale landing in Australia.
The Brits there seems to have really good planes, but they are totally flooded by the size of my Airforces. Only their Spitfires can hope to take off.
-> I'm currently waiting fresh reenforcements to resume the groud attack, they will be in zone in 2 weeks.
4) Preparations for D-Day (Landing on Californians coasts) have begun in Hawaii. I'm currently massing troops and equipments, but at a slower rate than I would like...

General: gave resources to all allies, sold luxeries to all for whatever they would offer. Embassies with all asap. Ended up giving a little to the USSR to keep them friendly. built workers everywhere - about 125? build scheme for cities was to generate workers and infrastructure to support growth, then switch to military units while pop is growing. have doubled pop in many cities. Science is 8-10 turns per advance. income about 250 per turn.
Brit Isles: kept fleet close until the Ger navy was expended. Mobilized on turn 1 this time. directed builds to infrastructure and research to Matilda II - now cranking out about 2 per turn. around turn 6 sailed battle group to med with reinforcements (armor) and used bombardment to help reduce italians in north africa and ethiopia. fleet then sailed to singapore where it is waiting. No heavy air blitz this time. Starting to build up ground def against possible german marines / para. Also building spitfires for india.
France:France has hung tougher this time. i almost feel guilty for bailing. Paris did not fall until turn 28, and fr took a spanish city to boot.
Africa:concentrated armor and artillery on tobruk on turn 1 and kept the pressure on. brought down bombers around turn 5. took last italian city in africa on turn 26. much different without italians having the marine. my fleet made the difference too.
Persia/India: set up defensive line all around this area in mountain/swamp hexes with militia, building fortresses in them as well. bombed my own frontier hexes to destroy roads and make all these hexes impassable to armor - only marines can attack in force. decided to fortify singapore and concentrate the fleet there - so far all quiet there. eventually abandoned rangoon and built defensive line just above it to the himilayas and then along chinese border. japs are now bombing and raiding with marines - killing some units - but nothing in force yet. I think the key is to destroy the roads. fortresses in a mountain or swamp make a tough target. japs kill units in them anyway. matildas now seasoning the line. i feel good about this area this game, but still early. your changes since ver. 1.3 make a big difference.
Australia: fortified port moresby, and defended the surrounding swamp mountain hexes. built fortresses around it (still building). japs hit but did not penetrate. left and did not come back. australia is building up and becoming an arsenal. japs have taken very little of the philipines and indonesia. maybe the US is keeping them busy.
South Africa/Canada: same build scheme - haven't shipped any units from Canada yet but will soon. most factories, etc. have been built. wating for science to develop better weapons (which cost more), will then be able to mass produce.
Finns and italians showed up in persia again (about 25 division), but just walked away this time. don't know why. Norway lost 1 city to finns. Chinese cleaned out of all but few cities. fr have only 1 city in indochina - will fall soon.
Conclusion: for the brits, so far, it is doable. big question is later when france falls and germans/italians move east. russia could also invade. But overall, your changes from ver. 1.3 have given the brits a fighting chance. my gut tells me that, given enough time to develop, they hold the axis, or the russians, but maybe not both. Only extensive playtest will tell.

Half of africa is mine. The big problem is railroad, absent of it. that is little slow down to concure Africa French.
I am builds 4-6 panzers IIIe a turn, while I am loosing only 1 or 2 per turn. Most of my towns produce enchantments.
I think follows improvments should be done.
1) Somebody proposes to reduce army sizes from 3 to 1. with just 4 hitpoints extra. Heroes epic producing corps once in 12 turns not increasing chances of great leader.
2) Make Sevastopol more diffensive.

Britain and Germany, nothing, itally and britain, nothing. The only fighting seems to be in the Pacific with me. Germany started off fighting france their two victory locations in france were raised, Paris and another city next to it. I have spys in GB and US and the only troop losses seem to come from me!Oh and nothing seems to be going on in North Africa.
im bout to start a fight with Russia just to get some action out of my allies. Russia did have a quick little war with the US in the beginning, (sub accident i think) and then took out the turks but thats about it. Nothing with the big honchos!
