WW2-Global

Adler,

Thank you for the reports.

"Week 18:
Tian Shan is taken by my SS divisions, which I sent over the mountains.
But before coming to the Eastern Front again, the Battle in the Atlantic:
With the spotting of 3 enemy BBs and 2 convoys of three BBs and a TR each the Battle of the Atlantic has reached a new level. While in one of the convoys one of the BBs was sunk by Uboats a few turns ago, I now attack the convoy and sink the ships there with three BBs. No losses. This happens in the central Atlantic. My BBs will return to Reykjavik for repairs.
Two other BBs (1 US C2, 1 KGV) are sunk by Uboats. This time 13 losses. The other ships will be hunted by my BBs."
Adler

The Atlantic will probably soon be German control.

"In the east the Soviet offensives near Kondo and Irkutsk are annhiliated by Heer and Luftwaffe. But when a Do 17 was successful against a Yak 1 I terminated all attacks against Soviet units near towns. They have too many fighters and I can not afford to lose more planes.
In Africa and the Middle East Damascus and Dangola were captured. Now Khartoum and Kirkuk are in danger. Also I think I will attack Turkey next turn."
Adler

It seems like Soviet-AI have shifted production towards air-units.

"Another remark: Germany had still four old torpedo boats from ww1 in duty, so I suggest to give Germany also 4 ww1 DD: T 107, T 108, T 110, T 111."
Adler

"Also you could change the German paratrooper into Fallschirmjäger"
Adler

OK, I will have it in mind with regard to version 2.3.

Thank you and welcome back.

well done Rocoteh!

it's awfully hard to improve upon greatness but i feel that you may have done just that! :goodjob:

El Justo,

Thank you for the positive words.

Its interesting to note that still (6 months after the release
of Civ 4) interest for Civ 3 scenarios is so strong.
Let us hope for one more C3C-patch.

of course! you are the Godfather of Civ3 Scenarios!

i am also pleasantly surprised in the cont'd interest in civ3. however, w/out trashing civ4 in this post, the 2 games are inherently different.

while i would love to see a final c3c patch...i am skeptical :(

Just took a look of 2.2 in the editor. I like the changes you made with the Spitifre being upgrade-able, and same with the Panzers.

Also in a 2.1 game I was playing as Germany, I spied on the Brits and noticed there sending alot of units into northern Canada. I see you've put some Outposts on the north east coast, but maybe more are needed in the far north.

And I like the cost of the worker actions nowthough if the AI will. I wonder actually try and build a railroad with 2 workers still.

I'm not going to play this right of way, I'm in the middle of the Battle of Britain, playing as Germany. I'm trying to keep it as close to

I've beehistory as possible (excluding air and naval battles). And I'm not building up a huge tank force until I research more heavy tanks so right now I relying on my Luftwaffe to do the most damage.n bombing London for 4 weeks and reduced a population of 28, down to 1, destroyed every city imrovement, and destroyed every last garrisoned unit (including a KGV). Next target: Portsmouth.

I'm also playing TGW as Britain. I haven't played it in awhile, but I still like it.

And again, this is the best scenario out there and I appreciate all your hard work and time thats gone into it.

hmm i have a problem it's unable for me for to bmb london because everything i send there is shot down by spitfires all my me-109 and 110 no chance ita impossible, how should i invade britain without airforce???

 That was the problem we had anno '40, too.

German Warplan -

Russia has a substandard military until the introduction of the T34. Therefore, Germany must capture as much land from Russia to eliminate it as a major power and forstall its attempts to gain new technologies. France lacks the technical ability to pose a serious threat to western Germany. A few well placed defense units can easily keep the French armies at bay until we are ready to deal with them. Russia is the long term threat and must be dealt with immediately. Only Britain poses a significant threat under this proposed warplan. They will gain technological parity with us very quickly and their navy is tremendously powerful and numerous. We must put full effort into launching large capital ships such as the Bismarck and continue rapid production of U-boats. Germany will gain numerous fruitfull lands in its conquest of Russia to further its ultimate goal of unifying Europe.

Germany 2.2

Week 36
Cities captured: Danzig
Report:
3rd Panzer Div takes Danzig

Week 37
Cities captured: Warsaw, Radom, Copenhagen
Report:
French test my Fortress Line just south of Cologne with many French casualties, none for me. A task force of British WW1 destroyers attacks my minefield northwest of Hamburg, elevating its experience to elite while taking no damage. Lost 2nd Mot Infantry Div at Warsaw, 2nd Mtn Inf Div takes Warsaw. 25th Panzer Regiment takes Radom; Poland eliminated! 217th Inf Div takes Copenhagen by sea! Danes eliminated. Paratrooper lost attacking Netherlands incursion near Dortmund.
Unit changes: +19 workers, -1 mot inf div, -1 Paratrooper

Week 38
Report:
U47 sinks British Battlecruiser Repulse, U50 sinks Renown. 6 coastal subs and 6 Type VII subs are lost in this engagement. Positioning German Weirmarcht, Kriegsmarine, and Luftwaffe for operation Barbarossa, except for a few squadrons of bombers sent to the western front to contain any enemy incursions.
Unit changes: +3 workers, +1 Type VII, -6 coastal submarines, -6 Type VII

Week 39
Report:
U50 sinks British carrier Arc-Royal, U51 sinks carrier Glorious, U52 sinks carrier Courageous. Large British fleet gathers northwest of Bremen. I only have enough U-boats to attack the carriers since the majority of the Kriegsmarine is gathered in the Baltic for Barbarossa. I have split the Weirmarcht and Luftwaffe into 3 army groups of equal size. Army Group North will drive along the Baltic coast towards Leningrad under the cover of the navy's heavy guns. Army Group center will drive towards Minsk and Smolensk. Army Group South will drive southeast to the Crimean pennisula.
Unit changes: +1 Me-109

Morphling: IRL, you would need air superiority to do an invasion of the UK. In Civ3, I don't think this is so necessary. Germany has Flak 88s to bring along, and with a decent sized force of ships with bombard, you can kill fighters in port cities. Getting naval superiority is far more important, but it will not be easy either. Though I will note that U-boats are far more efficient at whittling down allied BBs then other countries subs. Speaking of which, lets hope the Japan AI finally decides to build some Otsus this time around.

Bleh! I actually managed to forget this was coming out today Rocoteh, now I have to change my plans for tonight. I'm going to start a game as France, since I think it will be more likely someone else will do a Japan test for you.(I'm itching to play a Japan game though, for some reason. I LOVE big naval battles! ) Let's see how that Italian border looks...

Oh, and once again, :thanx:

Germany 2.2

Week 40

Unit changes: -2 Type VII, +1 Me-109

Germany 2.2

Week 42
Cities captured: Riga, Lwow, Kishinev, Gomel

Report: U50 sinks one British Hvy Cruiser, U63 sinks another British Hvy Cruiser, U64 lost. 3 from a squadron of 6 Type VIIs lost intercepting a squadron of British Southamptons off the Norweigan coast, sinking 3 of 4. Soviet Baltic fleet sinks 4 German 1939 destroyers off Romanian coast. Lost all remaining coastal submarines attacking Hvy Cruiser Kirov, Battleship Marat, Battleship October Revolution off Tallinn. Predreadnaught Schlesien sinks October Revolution. Scharnhorst sinks Marat. Gneisenau sinks Kirov. German destroyers and cruisers tackle the numerous Soviet submarines, sinking 27. While attacking Riga, 2nd Panzer Div is destroyed by a regular Soviet infantry...SERIOUSLY!!! 1st Light Division avenges this loss by taking Riga. 60th Inf Div takes Lwow. 246th Inf Div takes Kishinev. 3rd Mtn Inf Div takes Gomel. 56 Soviet losses (12 ground, 12 air, 32 naval).

El Justo,

Thank you.

Agree. There will probably be no more patch.
However its a fact that there is sharp increase in interest for Civ 3
and decreased interest for Civ 4.
One can only hope it will give some result with regard to Firaxis.
