im just the type that thinks the original map making should be the creator'seffort entirely. of course, ill use some of my own maps again.

You should also have each nation's Infantry units cost a population to build, so that for the allies, the American troops will be a real big help, as they'll be reaching the limits of their manpower. This could also reflect the advantage Germany and Russia had at the beginning of the war.

Also, I'm somewhat ambivilent about how American intervention happens no matter what. Because w/o the unrestriced sub campaign by Germany, the US wouldn't've gotten involved. That being said, I can't think of a better way to implement it.

Contributions from the UK and France could be represented in a similar way, with unbuildable improvements or small wonders that give colonial troops every so often (though probably less often than US troops

Your infantry idea is great! Great! Cost: one population. Perfect idea. You are wrong about unrestricted sub warfare (sort of), check Marla_Singer's thread.

I'll post it here for you:

<Imagine you post here, ending talking about unrestricted submarine warfare>
Who knows, as Germany didn't until America was in the war. It was the Zimmerman telegraph (or message) that swayed us. They asked Mexico and Japan to invade us, while they restarted unristricted submarine warfare, and gave financial aid to Mexico and Japan, I think.

Official announcement:

As of now, normal (non-American) infantry will cost one population point. This will show how near the end of the war, Europe is stretchig it's manpower, and make the Americans even more valuable.

I know this idea has been said, but it is now officialy in. Thanks for the idea, jamesjkirk.

Another advantage to this is to highlight Germany's advantage in the early war (along with giving it a large army and navy). Do you guys like this?

Do you know how the hidden technologies work? Could you give France and England a hidden tech needed to build the American Support?

Era_None? Good Idea. I think I will do this. I will still have them start with it made, as it does not produce units, it allows building that produce units to be built. Thank you for this idea, BTW. Anybody have ideas on graphics? I'm thinking of using Sun Tzu's, in the interest of keeping the file small, but I don't know. If you know of good graphics, give me a link (I don't mean aireal view graphics, I mean the graphics in the pop-up you get when you build the wonder).

Sorry to just jump in to the conversation but...

I have been toying around with a personal mod called the 11th hour for some time and after I am done tests I hope to have a few more WW1 units. If you want I will let you have them be fore I post them.

Units to be finished:
German - Kwagen, Ehrhardt E-V/4 armored car (I will also be finishing a fictional tank called the Kwagen 2 for my mod)

Commonwealth - Whippet (Medium Mark A)

French - Char 2C

Austria - Austro-Daimler armored car

I hope to have them all done before march when I will post my mod. But I will be finishing the Char 2C and Kwagen over christmas break.

PS: my 11th hour mod starts in 1920 with WW1 still going so its not really a WW1 mod.

Hunter, that would be wonderful. I would really love it if you would. Please. You will recieve speical thanks... definately!

You will also be on the "pre-release scenario exclusive release" list. In other words, you can have this scenario before anyone not on the list.

Yup.

Current list:

MarineCorps
Sarevok
Hunter
Drift
Dom Pedre II
Marla_Singer

If you want to be on, help out now! Or at least give me a reason to put you on.

Thank you very much, Sarevok. I can't wait for it!

STATUS UPDATE: I'm now done with everything (including the PediaIcons), except the Civilopedia. I hope to be done with that by this time tommorow. This will be the release for the people on the list two posts up. The mass release shoudl be soon after.

This will be version 0.2.

Instead of the hidden tech what you could do is use the Flavors and put a tech or series of techs in that would allow American assistance eventually. The western Allies would be of this flavor, and the tech would be prohibitively expensive for the Central Powers. Using a line of the tech tree like this you can spread out the time that it'll take for Americans to eventually come.
Or you could just have a single tech to them that they need to research, and then have an expensive wonder or small wonder to build to get the US to come.

2 questions though:
Does it make sense to give the UK the ability to build this? As I'm pretty sure the Americans went straight to France. Also this could lead to the Brits pumping out Americans from Alexandria.

Also, how well will the UK resupply its frontlines in France? Will it reinforce I mean, or just accumulate units in the British Isles?

Given the similarities in military research and developement in the last 200 years, it would be difficult to add techs for just a few civs.

I was wondering if you were giving some infantry units the ability to build forts/barricades, and, if so, which ones?
