WWII Europe: Small, Fast & Beautiful

I have the same problem - "orig-1.0.exe" says there are no files to update (no matter in which directory I run this update - civ3, conquestes, scenarios or WWII Europe). I suggest change ".exe" into ".rar" file.

:scan: You have to add sm.pcx and lg.pcx in \art\tech chooser\icons :scan:

Back to testing...

Hey, I think this was a really awesome scenario. I just loved it! But unfortunately it crashed :( It crashed over and over at one one same turn start during late 1940 no matter what I did on that turn it crashed when the next started. (more precisely at the point when some new buildings are presented) It said "civ3conquest.e.exe has generated and error and will be shut down, error log will be created" Then I got so mad, cause I cant see what the error was. Does anyone know?

Another thing I must point out is that I think the FJ-units (paradrop, fast unit) are too cheap to build. I invaded French North Africa with only one airbase in southern France and some 20 to 30 FJ-units. They blew up everything in their way. Their stats exceed ever other foot unit, even the SS-unit and I think they maybe should have a reduced attack strength and higher cost.

To compensate for its uselessness when FJ arrives at the scene, the SS-unit could have a higher attack strength and higher cost, they were historically equipped with the best outfit and the best training and thus expensive and they were elite. FJ were also elite, but I think maybe a defensive role would suit them best.

Maybe you could send me the savegame of the pre-crash turn?
Also, have you updated to 1.1? (There's also a 1.2 if you can find it ;) )

I know that some units are too good & some units are too bad compared to what they where in real life, but as they are all part of certain unit group, I'd like to keep them at about the same strengths.

Ok, I will need your e-mail and then I can send it. I must say this scenario is one of the best I've seen, and there is even more potential to it. I updated to 1.1 today, and I looked at the units in civedit... 1.2 I have never seen (?)
Most of the unit strengths looks well balanced, I really like the idea of different hitpoint bonuses of tanks and ships. It's only when you compare FJ and SS units you see how the SS become useless after advanced warfare... the FJs (except for the hitpoints) still are far superior on everything. So thats why I modded it to cost 10 more and have same attack defense values as the SS. Now with both paradrop and double move the FJ still presides in its the role as a superior foot unit. I tested it and I still build them in high productive cities due tho their strategic role. They rock! :)

I really like the idea of different speed of tanks like this scenario has. I would suggest using light 3, med 2, heavy 1. I also modded the cost for the Kingtiger to be higher and made it a 1 move unit such as the. Kingtigers were not successful in the role as mobile weapon, they got stuck all the time and had many breakdowns and served best as ambusher and tank killers.

I see the Panther and Tiger have almost same stats, but the Tiger is cheaper. but personally I would like to give the Tiger worse stats than Panther but an extra HP because of it's armour thickness. Panther was rated the best tank of the war, as a response to the T34 in tank warfare... The Tiger was a 1939 heavy tank project, and it still had the hard frontal armour and featured a fearsome 88mm with Zeiss optics that could destroy a T34 at a range up to 1000m. They did not manouver as well as the panthers though.

Anyway I noticed something in the bic file... Panther: airlift on, blitz off, rate of fire 0. Tiger: airlift off, blitz on, rate of fire 1. bombard FX on, and ignore movement on certain terrain. I am a bit confused about the Tiger having all that and at the same time it's cheaper. I just think loud... Perhaps the Panther at least should have a faster move? hmm...

Rate of fires & new tank stats corrected.

The Waffen SS is in the MG infantry Class and is already better than other MG Inf's. And isn't the purpose of sci. research to get better stuff? If it still bugs you, feel free to edit the scenario ;)

Put WWII Europe as the heading that it wont get mixed with spam.
EDIT: If you used the orig version & it crashed, those crashes have been solved a loooong time ago.

"To extract these files you might need WinRAR."

How do you use WinRaR?
I browsed looking for WWII_Europe.rar but it only gave me folders
if you want to help me, i put it in my documents (ä²îÜÙþËì).
It looks awesome! :goodjob:

ok i made it work, but how do you copy and paste the WWII europe folder in scenarios?

I just extracted the folder to scenarios and played the game. IT WAS AWESOME!!!

GREAT JOB!!! :goodjob:
