Most people who accuse of Gorbachev of beign on Uncle Sam's pockett extend the accusation to Krushchev.

It's the first time I see one praised and the other condemned by the same person.
 
Stalin is the best ruler for the Impire. His good side is well known and indisputable: great industry, victory in the WW2 and atomic bomb. His bad side like GULAG and ungrounded repessions is mostly the result of western propaganda...

World War II was won IN SPITE of Stalin, not because of him. Any history buff who knows anything about world war II Russia will tell you that.

Also, it is absolutly disgusting to brush off the horrifying reality that was Stalin's rule as "western propaganda"?! My parents lived under Stalin's rule and from what I have learned from them, the rest of my Russian family, and history books/classes leaves me confident in saying that Stalin was one of the WORST, MOST BRUTAL rulers (on basis of deaths caused to his own people) in all of history, not just Russia.

The fact Stalin got so many votes truly saddens me. :sad:

I just voted for Stalin because of the name, it used to be Dzugashvili, and then it became "Stalin". Steel owns...
 
It seems you all very like to discuss our history, mistakes of your leaders and black pages of USSR. May be it'll be more interesting to recall your own history, your "friendship" with Indians. It was very cute from your side to kill them all and to destroy their culture. So I suggest you to finish that topic and to discuss something else.

No it is not mistake it is black page. Your citizens understood that that it won't be simple to live in that order. There were a lot of enemies of our country, not only in other countries, also in USSR. Also such repressions were necessary. Not all of citizens could understand the whole meaning of our government's plans. They (citizens) could do something wrong and distroy all of good beginings. They were stopped.

Of course. After all, the great leaders said that what they were doing was good and necessary for Russia. So whoever opposed that was clearly a western spy, a dirty trotskyst-fascist-capitalist bastard that needed to be stopped.

Never question authority, that is the duty of a loyal soviet citizen. Submit like a dog and the Party will throw you some bones.
