I think I just had mine, playing as Arabia.

All this happened in one turn
- Built The Pentagon in Mansura
- Built The Military Academy in Medina
- India, the second most powerful civ in the world (who was also on another continent), declares war on me
- Research Steam Power
- Domestic Adviser recommends that I build Ironworks.

Unfortunately, the Ironworks city was a corrupt little enclave in mountains near Berlin which the Celts had settled. It had two citizens, both of which were working mined plains tiles. Currently, it will take me 300 turns to build, and will get me one extra shield.

But hey! You can build the Ironworks! I've seen that ... maybe four times.

Mine:
-Build Pentagon
-Build Forbidden Palace
-Build Ironworks
-Research Corporation (?)
-Build ToE
-Gain Refining and Steel
-Declare War on Germany
-Conquer Germany (3 Cities)

Note: I looked for a Autosave but couldn't find one, it was from a while ago.

Add a factory and a nuclear plant and you might get up to 3 extra shields.

Two words (OK, one word and one acronym?): Double SGL.

Once I conquered 15 cities in a turn. I ran out of radar artillery and bombers. I still had about 15 modern armor left.

Now I recall something which might fit. I took out the Indians in a single turn on a huge Deity map in my histographic game (there's a save there which you can download, click next turn, and then play the replay if you want to see how many cities that was).

The turn I drew Nationalism in this game I also remember as fairly eventful as I sweated through the middle ages in that one. My notes indicate an eventful turn before the Industrial Ages in this game also, as I picked up 5 techs on a turn, basically almost went broke, but ended up in a good position for later on.

My regent game from the other day i got iron works with a GML built in a captured/mostly corrupt city. I rush-bought courthouse/marketplace/police station and ended up getting production similar to a core city. I think I've only gotten it a couple of times in one of my core cities.

One time I got the iron works in a city that was in my core, I ended up with over 200 spt after the nuclear plant was built.

You can see the said Ironworks city, Augustorodorum in the lefthand side of the screen.

I could do that... but what will it accomplish? I would be able to have more citizens to produce corrupted gold and shields. I might as well do something worthwhile with my workers.

No, you will have more citizens to produce surplus foods to feed specialists.

If I irrigate all three tiles I can possibly irrigate, than I can have three citizens making 7 food. So there isn't even enough surplus food to feed a single specialist. Get over it, everybody. Augustorodurum is a near-useless city.

7 Food? Irrigated Plains give 2 Food, the bonus gives ... +1, I guess. And then you Rail the three tiles for an additional +3 Food, giving you +10 Food from the three tiles. So the city makes 12 Food/Turn using 3 Citizens, letting you use 3 Specialists. Should you, and is it worth it? It's your game; the only reason I posted was because it looks like your math is dodgy.

Rail, sorry, I forgot about the rail.

Final point being, that it is the least useful site for IW I've ever seen. And putting three specialist in won't make it a better IW site.
