I know each leader has their preferred Civ. For exmaple, some likes Representation, and some likes Heredity rules.

However, by just having Representation for 2000 years seems to be not enough to gain prefernece by AI Civs who prefer representation. Does anybody know where to look for a list of an exact matchings, or has some tip on the matter? Thanks. :)

If I understand this correctly, you only get the "You have chosen your civics wisely" if your current civics match the current civics of the other leader.

You may only get this diplomacy bonus with certain leaders on certain civics (i.e. if you have State Property and so does Cath, you get the bonus, but you get no bonus for matching Freedom of Religion with her) but I do not know this information or where to find it.

I think it only works if they ASK you to change civics.

I am not sure.

It does not work only if they ask you to change, as I have never changed my civics when they have asked and I have seen this bonus before. Which means it is only has to be when both nations share the same civics.

I think it happens when you have the leader's favorite civic. For example Mansa Musa is Free Market and when i changed to a democracy(Universal suffrage, free market, etc.) he quoted, "You have wisely chosen your civics."

But it works only if Mansa has free market instaured too. You won't have any bonus for universal suffrage from Roosevelt if he doesn't have democracy yet, but it will jump to +6 when he'll switch to it.

Little bonus if your civics match, great one if your civics match AND it's the leader's favorite one.

The manual, in the section detailing all of the leaders. Alternatively, you can look in the pedia, which describes the leaders and which civics are their favourites.

Is anyone certain that you get a little diplomatic bonus if your civics match but are not the other leader's favorite civic?

No, you only recieve the bonus if both you and your friend are using your friend's favorite civic.

It would make a lot of sense if their was a diplomatic bonus for matching civics reguardless of "favorite civic". After all- in the diplomacy screens you can ask another leader to change his civics. Especially when concluding a victorious war, it would make sense to ask your defeated opponent to switch to your civics. This would be historically accurate and it would allow you to have better diplomatic relations after a war- reducing the probability of future wars. It would reflect a new government for the defeated rival- for real life purposes the change of government type and leader personel.

Can this be modded into the game?
