From The Right Honourable David John Howard Thompson of Barbados
To The Members of CARICOM and in general the island nations of the Caribbean.
Through CARICOM and other treaties the island nations have grown closer and closer economic ties between each other. We have been forged, in essence, a single economy, in keeping with the goals of CARICOM itself and the CARICOM Single Market Economy. With all this being said, Barbados would like to think that all these actions are towards a common goal of greater cooperation and integration. Hence, with these goals and values in mind, Barbados would like to propose the unity of the Caribbean islands, under a single democratically elected government. We are eager to hear your ideas on the matter and we assure you that it will not be like the Caribbean Federation, a weak husk that shivered up under the pressure of naught but a few months of governing.
To The United States of America and The United Kingdoms of England
CC The United Nations Security Council and the U.N.
We would like this time to express our wish to unite the people of the Caribbean under one, democraticly elected government (obviously leadership would not be Barbadian but Caribbean), we ask for the blessing of the powers that be, as well as the international community in this effort. We wish to express that we have no ulterior motives other than the unification of the Caribbean island nations and we offer UN inspectors to monitor said negotiations and future elections, if they may occur.
We would also like to take this time to severe our "monarchial" ties with the United Kingdoms of England. This is only a formality, and we shall remain in the Commonwealth.
ooc by monarchial ties i mean that technically Barbados is a constitutional monarchy under the Queen of England, of course the Queen has actual power, just like she has on actual power in the english government. Meerly a figurehead. As i said, it is just a formalityl, and does NOT lessen our diplomatic relations with the UK.
