I actually thought the eye scar worked. Tamerlane was injured (although it was a leg injury i believe). The scar also helped differentiate him from Ivan IV and Alexander.
I have more of a problem with Julius Caesar looking like a decrepid 80 year old. I mean my grandfather is 90 and looks younger then Caesar does in the game. Caesar would also be significally "huskier".

It means I think the missing eye and the scar look pathetic!
If the scar is meant to differentiate him from Alex and Ivan it only means one thing: this is a poor LH! A good LH is when you either can't tell who the model is based on, or you can tell who the model is based on, but it still looks so unique, so you forget about it! With Tamerlane it doesn't work. The only good part of it is the cool helmet that really looks like the one on the statue!

Well, Tiberius wasn't exactly proud. He was found cowering behind a curtain rather than face death (or use the "honorable" Roman method of suicide). I don't know much about Tamerlane, but normally wounds suffered in battle were considered to be honorable wounds (unless entirely dehabilitating). The Roman General Marius once famously pointed out that his scars serve as his title of nobility, since they were all on the FRONT of his body. Meaning that he didn't flee from battle.
This is all pointless discussion though, I said I'd try and reskin it, but if the consensus is that the LH sucks and shouldn't even be used I won't.
EDIT: as far as caesar goes, I agree he is too "famished" looking, although I wouldnt' call him decrepid. He certainly doesn't look like he's 90 years old! I also don't get why they put him in a purple toga. If anything it should be white or red (or both), he wasn't an Emperor.

I think you should first finish what you are doing now and come back to Timur and Ablay when you'll have the time. I don't want to rush you with my requests. I think that the LH might not "suck" if it'll be reskinned in a good way.
By the way, as I said, I think you idea of using Idriss as Harun al-Rashid and Van der Donk as Maurits van Nassau is really good. I did it too, but I also changed their backgrounds to make them look more unique. If you want I can upload screeshots, maybe you'll like my changes and apply them in your MOD?
