Well, while being more busy on self-improving, I'm uploading such a long ago made stuff to make you not missing me and to prove that my working on ZP Next War Update isn't an empty talk.

According to my Next War Update mod, this unit is the first available futuristic unitclass in a game. It's an armed by a primitive plasma-throwing gun our times uniform-wearing soldiers.
Later they just like other firearmed units are getting replaced by more advanced weapons.

Spoiler :
"Bolter" is the lasting nickname for any being armed with a primitive plasma discharge weapon. Early in our works on plasma, we managed to develop the technology for building plasma-throwing rifles. These are not the advanced weaponry; these were clumsy, backpack-sized generators that fired what were essentially aimed bolts of lightning. The rifle itself fired twin beams--a precursor collimation laser to create an ionized path to the target, and the plasma discharge itself, which naturally followed the charged path.

Is it just me or does the animation look like the Ghostbusters.

This is excellent work. could the same rig be set up to fire a "laser" or some other kind of ammunition. I am thinking of the weapons from star wars.

You don't have to be an advanced unit maker to do that - you just have to reskin the fire texture in it's folder. Also to use alternate sound.

Glad to see Hungary made it till the "next war" and that it even got plasma rifles... :goodjob:Seems like other countries have failed on the way to there. No, seriously: your units look pretty cool!

Nice unit, expected a playable version of the mod based on the title however. I hope there will be one soon :)

Looks cool, but the units are too dark to really see detail. Out of curiosity, what are the texture sizes for the units?

That is a big dds file, IIRC, the most leaders are 512x512. Any way to resize it down to say, 256x256? My comp isnt bad, but if this is a late game map with lots of units with textures this big, it will be basicly unplayable. And for those with Vista and the MAF errors..... Ive noticed alot of your recent units are 1024x1024, any reason for that? At civ scale, you cant really get much more detail from a unit with a texture that big compared to a 256x256 texture.

Just 1 question, where can I find more data about this mod?

1024!!!! :eek::eek:

Why so huge?! As Adjidica says, there probably isn't much better quality than 256.
Zoomed out, the texture probably almost identical.

I use such a size only for modern camoflauged units

The thing is though, not everyone has a Quad Core 4Gig rig with the latest Video Card. And the apearance difference from 256 to 1024 isn't noticible really. It's main effect is to make your models unusable for public mods and players who don't have high end machines.

Your models are pretty, and I'd like to use them, so I wish that you'd release lower deff versions as well.

Great job!You inspired me to start making a sci-fi mod called Proxima Centauri. So far there are only two civilizations. Here's a picture of some of the Imperial civ's units.

problems with these units:

the included KFM is faulty - the unit just stands in a T pose

gun is lying on the ground, whilst the guy is holding a white stick (could be related to the KFM)

EDIT: using the regular Janissary kfm and the unit works fine. That is a very large texture, though, and needs to be reduced in size considerably. Doing so would mean larger camo patches so that the unit actually looks like it's wearing camo - so you'd get superior looks and performance. Just my 2 cents, though.

It seems you are one of those who did not downloaded the main unit - the first one, the regular bolter. Sounds, KFM (proper), effects and XML - all is there.
