I know Verbose would have better answers for you than I would, for probably both English-language and Swedish-language books.
The ones I thought of off the top of my head are the (dated, loquacious, and halfway off topic) Durant series, the History of Civilization. Frankly, I'm not really aware of many general histories that cover the whole period. Unless you want, say, textbooks. There are some very good topical works and country-specific things that I can point you towards in most of that period, but I'm not familiar with overarching stuff like that.
Probably the closest I would get are Dupuy's old Encyclopedia of Military History for most of the military events (slightly dated and superficial but it covers everything) and Findlay and O'Rourke's Power and Plenty for economic and social matters. Good short work on the diplomatic/political history of Europe during the last part of the period is Black's European International Relations 1648-1815.
