Just to avoid that horrible occurrence... We'll delay another day. :mischief:

Edit: To be frank, we may have to. I am about to have to sleep (exhausted), and during the day I've been trying to find a job; Need money. :lol:

As it can take hours to upload and develop the changelog... I may have to sleep before it's done.

That said, all that's left is Lamia art.
 
You could always start the upload for overnight, use placeholder art and patch in the real Lamia art in the first update. Changelog can be written after :)

that said, looking for a job is more important I guess.

Lamia art is already in, and I've been merging the latest updates by the rest of the team (pretty much done). That wasn't the issue.

Sleep and the changelog are.

upload now, go to bed and then we can start to play and read changelogs simultaneously!!!!!

Changelog will take several hours to produce, and I do not want to make the file public before the changelog (and new stickied threads) are public. And if I upload it overnight without announcing it... Some enterprising soul will find it. Always do. :lol:

What's wrong with adding a little mystery? :p

Besides, there are probably enough people waiting for 1.3 that you could upload the file, go to sleep, and have a mostly complete changelog waiting for you when you wake up. :p

Just not going to happen that way, sorry.

There is a plus side of my not uploading it yet, however.... It HAS gone out to the testers, so they'll have a day to play with the new animals before the official patch goes out.

Or at least, it's going out to them now... :lol:
 
So, what do you folks plan to do when RifE 1.3 is released? I think I'll tear myself away from StarCraft II long enough to play a game or two as the Archos, while re-learning how to play CIV. :l

If enough of you chime in, this thread may make it to post #400!

Just to make it slightly better.... Here is the list of the latest changes, which the testers now have access to.


  • Animals - Only listing overviews. Check the pedia for full stats. (Sorry people, you'll get the chance tomorrow :mischief:)
    • Bears - Strong but slow
    • Boars - Strong
    • Cats - Sneaky. All cats are invisible (seen by scouts), though they lose this for one turn after combat
    • Drakes - Typed Damage (based on Drake type), Flying, Breath Attacks. Mid game spawns.
    • Gorillas - Ranged
    • Griffons - Weak, Withdrawal
    • Raptors - Fast, Jungle Bonuses
    • Scorpions - Strong, Poison Strength + Effect, new Racials
      • Gained 5 new racials, ala the Spider racials. Each racial has new art.
      • Glacialis - Ice Bonuses
      • Mortalitas - Poison Bonuses (including a stronger Poison Effect, Crippling Poison)
      • Videlicet - Desert Bonuses
      • Aequor - Water Bonuses (Same as the Spider)
      • Rutila - Hill Bonuses, Burrow ability
    • Spiders - Strong, Invisible, Poison Strength
    • Stags - Defensive Only, Divine
    • Wolves - Default Animal (2:strength: 2:move: -> 4:strength: 2:move: -> 6:strength: 2:move:)
    • Elephant/Mammoth - Very Strong, Slow, Rare, Defensive Only
    • Wyrm - Strong early, average later. Fear. Rare.
    • Aquatic - Fast + Strong, are not replaced by their upgrades (all forms continue to spawn)
    • Each animal lineage (which excludes Wyrms and Aquatic animals) possess a single Blood promotion; The animal can be sacrificed to grant this promo to recon units.
    • Animals gain universal maluses to city attack. Doviello/Archos are exempt to some of this, for specific animals.
    • Animals no longer upgrade. Period. That wolf you captured shall remain a wolf forever. This is even true of the Doviello. The one exception would be the Archosian spiders/scorpions, and that may be removed (requires a set capital size, rather than unit level or tech)
    • Animals may not create their own lairs.
    • Many animal lairs removed; Only basic lairs remain.
  • Doviello
    • Slightly adjusted for the new animals. Not much has changed.
  • Archos
    • Gained an entirely new mechanic. In addition to Spiders, they are now able to spawn Scorpions.
    • Scorpion spawning is carried in a separate counter; Both are displayed, if non-zero.
    • Scorpion spawn chance is based on Capital Size, Desert Cities, Hills in the vicinity of the Capital, and number of Scorpions
      • Desert Cities = Number of Archosian cities in the desert. These cities only count towards Scorpions.
    • Only one type of animal can spawn each turn; Spiders will be processed first.
  • Kurios
    • Lamia art added. Simply a replacement artstyle.
  • Sidar
    • Mist bug fix merged
    • LeveledImmortality effect added; Gained by the Greater Shade promo, available at level 6.
    • FfH Shade mechanic removed.
 
Ah thanks! That will settle the anticipation a little bit.

New animals look much better - so basically, with the new rules, it should be practically impossible to have packs of sabertooths, worgs, and griffins roaming around before I have my hunters :)
 
Popping in to say thank you all for the patience, and it will be up tonight/tomorrow (based on your time zone). The testers and the team will be playtesting today, to find any last bugs to squash.

I've actually already made the new install script and tested it; Have it set to run the new Launcher, rather than Civ4 itself. Same for the shortcut. Works flawlessly. :goodjob:

(oh : I know the answer) Just as a way to show you my gratitude for all your hard work and to show that I'm sure you'll be true to your announcement.
 
oups... a last question :
You also do a new magical system.
I can't remember if it come in 1.3 or later.
(I know next WM wil have magical changes, but will RifE too ?)
 
I believe the magic revamp was planned for 1.5, might be even later though. At the very least I'm sure it's not in 1.3.
