so far. Sent the turn to Dazz G and am now going to attempt the 2 folders thing before one of my other turns pops up.

1st go around received and sent. My 2nd time. There may be some issues between my playing 1.61 and BTS as my BTS game was popping up protection notices. I'm trying to see how that happened and hopefully move on.
That would be because BtS requires 1.74 to run.
When you installed Civ4 and patched to 1.61 you should have copied, pasted and renamed to something like 'Civ4 Unpatched'. You then patch your original folder to 1.74 while also installing BtS.
This is what I did and it works perfectly.
had to do an uninstall and I cheated as I only uninstalled Civ 4 and then reinstalled it patched it to 1.61 and copied/moved it. I then upgraded to 1.74 with my main game. So when I attempt to play BTS there are those issues. I might copy and paste them in an email but it just is a continuous something or another about a unit which I OK and it goes on until eventually it shuts down. I may have to uninstall all 3 games and then reinstall and patch them up. I will still have my copy as I put it on another partitioned drive. I'm still working on it.

I would have suggested you uninstall everything at the start, install Civ4 and patch to 1.61, copy and paste and rename, patch original to 1.74 then install BtS / Warlords.
Only uninstalling Civ4 may have broken links between Civ4 and BtS.

I heard a rumor that said the Mac patch is 2 weeks away. Here's hoping.
That's the way I figured it. I just completed the RE RE install and have a separate folder still for the 1.61. All my games work, presently. I await the 1.61 game to further test me. Thanks for the advice.

I have the 1.74 patch. I will be installing it today. This game is clear to switch to 1.74. Thanks for waiting everyone, sorry for the inconvenience.

I don't know what Direct X is, is that a PC thing that doesn't apply to mac? That's strange that you couldn't open in from either game.
The upgrade I used was the one from Aspry site, that's the offical producer for the mac version of the game. I hope we can figure it out because I can't get 1.61 anymore, they took it off of the site.

I went to the Civ Fanatic Site looking for insight and found no new news in regard to the patch. Civ4_1.74.dmg file for Civ4 vanilla. So I am as the game on my computer all versions 1.74, 1.61, warlords and BTS all work fine with everyone else. Good luck. If I can help....

Lets see if Dazz G can open the file I sent him for the other game and that might give us some insight. These games are supposed to be compatible for PC verses MAC.

Chasebolt - Dazz G didn't seam to have any problems opening the 1.74 file for a different game that I sent him. You should ask him for some advice on opening the file. I will also resend to you just in case something went wrong there.
