1000 things you don't want to see in a game ever again

You can cheese that quest by meditating till it's day again. It's still horrible though, and especially grating because other escort quests in The Witcher have you escort unkillable characters. Vesna's the only one that can actually die.

Escort and timed missions that have no reason being timed or in some cases, even existing.

I also hate pointless generic side missions like the ones in Prototype that have the player trying to get to the top of a building or through rings in a certain amount of time (something like that). Some escort missions. The one in Prototype was decent but most fail at being fun.

Any RTS with pathfinding problems. Seriously, I'm looking at Empire Earth 3.

Teammates who failed basic training and despite this, are still in the field.

Eeeeeh not a Civ V (or Steam...) discussion thread.

If people can't be arsed to read thread titles, they sure as hell won't do the same for subforum headings.

The best Empire Earth was Empire Earth 1

Buildings with an unlimited amount of men with RPG's inside.

--> Spawning enemies behind you to a place where you passed through only a few seconds ago. SF2, Clive Barkers Jericho.

It's even worse when you see them spawning. These scripted spawns became so predictable in SF2 you started walking backwards through some areas because you just knew the baddies would spawn in there. And they did. Appeared from thin air.

--> Useless AI teammates that become a burden instead of helping you. Again Clive Barker's Jericho, but I've seen this in some other games aswell.

--> Human enemies that take a whole clip of bullets to the head before dying.

You don't want much, do you? You probably hated Knights of the Old Republic and The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind for having boring stories as well.

I haven't played Knights of the Old Republic, and I play Morrowind, so ha on you.
And I stand by what I said about The Darkness and Mass Effect. While The Darkness has a great game concept, it's the dull acting/storyline/characters that did it for me. And Mass Effect had all that PLUS a confusing mission line and ridiculously horrible acting.
I'm not a pretty good drama fan. It bores to me tears. Merely action interests me, which games like Super Smash Bros. and Street Fighter appeals to me.

Blasphemy! Empire Earth II was a mass improvement over I (and WAAAAAAAAAAAAY better than III)!

Jennifer Hale voiced female Shepherd, so you could always have her voice next time you play Mass Effect and see if that helped. I didn't find ME confusing in the slightest; it was possibly a little too simple.

The one single thing I NEVER, EVER want to see again in video game ?

Dumbing it down for the casual crowd. The plague and death of gaming.

I hope to god that they don't do this to L.A. Noire. I honestly wouldn't be suprised if all of the cases were SUPER easy because they were worried that people would take one look at it and think "Critical thinking? BOOOORIIIIING!"

Another example of things I don't wanna see anymore:

Multiplayer part of the game splits the community (Sacred 2: Europeans can't play on the online servers with North Americans, in Starcraft 2 isn't the asian community split too?)

Multiplayer in general - I'd much rather take a substantially improved single player game than a half-arsed tacked on multiplayer mode. I'm looking at you, Call of Duty. :gripe:

Speaking of COD, why can't we have all the guns from the start? Why do the good guns have to be unlocked by some RPG bullcrap or with in-game money? It just seems some artifical restraint so people will play it longer. Heck, even TF2's random drops, while fair, can be annoying when you want a certain weapon, and you get the freaking Sandvich for the 347347th time.

And Prestige, otherwise known as a *snip*-waving contest. What difference does it make for me to trade back all my weapons for a stupid picture? What's the point? Why do people think you're an inferior gamer if decide you'd rather keep your weapons instead of going after some cosmetic reward?

I prefer the in-game money thing to TF2's random drops but only if you can buy any weapon you won't. If the game was properly balanced, the cost of better weapons would be greater than lesser weapons anyway. Prestige is annoying. I don't see the appeal of doing Prestige TEN times.

Spawning in Black Ops is terrible in multiplayer. Why, oh why, are the maps so small and spawns so random?

I like FPS's that have bases, like Frontlines and Battlefield, because the chance of Random Stupid Spawn Syndrome goes down immensely.

Because Activision doesn't let its developers have enough time to work, and Treyarch is not an amazing developer. Also consoles.

Well every other game on console has fine multiplayer, it's just Blops sucks. And even though it sucks, it's still better than MW2.

Spoiler :
That is my opionion, which is correct.
Spoiler :
unless you disagree in which case it's fine to have your own.
