These turn times are insane...

Slower, very slow. I am on a Toshiba laptop(not a gaming laptop) and before things were smooth. Now it is unplayable.

Just awful.

I have a gaming laptop and they're killing me. People over at the 2k forums are beyond livid about a lot of things. I'm bouncing back and forth between them and just watching the crap and fur fly.

I didn't recognize longer turn times in my game. But I continued a quite advanced game with a little bit longer waiting times even before the patch and overly long turn times where never a serious problem at my system.

Members of Civforum.de mentioned, that the courthouse bug is fixed! If this is true, it would be a very welcome improvement!

Ummm..for 2009 maybe.

2010, but your point is well made. Well above min spec but below recommended spec.

On another note this patch seems to have only affected DLC civs, at least as far as I can tell. I had an Egypt game that now features "Lord Genghis Khan of the Inca". That said I checked an older save file that had no DLCs and nothing was different.

I can run MW3 with everything full blast but the point I'm making is I never had the slowdowns in CiV EVER until the new patch. I have a ton of other newer games that require more *umph* than this and they work absolutely fine and now this one doesn't.

Regarding the increased or decreased turn times, do people run old mods, new mods or no mods at all?

Perhaps there are new system requirements. For those that were below recommended, are now well below recommended.

I checked that "Can You Run This* site before I got CiV vanilla and it said I was more than capable of running this game...maybe like you said requirements changed...

I just did it again the results showed that I was at the tippy top right hand side way past recommeded...so yeah it's definitely capable enough

same with Gods and Kings..same showing and rating

It makes no sense that a game was patched to be MORE demanding...

I don't think it was a very wise idea for them to release that Beta Patch? Why you might ask? Because they can't update it.. because the mods would become obselete again, and have to be updated.. AGAIN..

I'm really surprised... the patch broke MANY things, I can't even start teh game properly, slower turn times.. buggy animations..

They should've polished this patch a little bit.. I guess the strain of God and Kings kinda rushed them.

There has to be a Memory Leak somewhere...

Capable of running the game is not the same thing as running the game well. Folks nowadays are running i7x4 or 6, 16gb RAM and 2gb gfx - if you want high everything in Civ5.

But I do agree that a patch shouldn't alter the system requirements. Good thing I don't have it.

It say that the steam workshop is now not available . This steam service is not available

this is what it said if I click on workshop :

Anybody else has this?

Before the patch I DID run everything in High and I had no problems. Now with the patch I've had to lower some to medium. It really pisses me off. The memory leak might be a factor. I mainly got a new CPU JUST for CiV and up to now, it's worked like a charmer :D

My guess that there are some changes in the DirectX coding that are causing problems with some drivers. Perhaps updating to the latest video drivers?

Mine seems somewhat faster; especially loading a save. This is running standard game (NOT a mod) but only DLC.

One note: The update appeared to have auto reset some saved settings which I had to change back. (It had turned the popup advisers back on among other things for me.)
So I would suggest those experiencing a slow down double check that their video settings weren't increased.

Regarding the court house, if they've changed it to no longer negate city unhappiness, I'll just raze all cities on site and refound as refounding would always be more efficient. (While I'm at it I would move many cities over a tile or two to optimize their placements)

Slower, very slow. I am on a Toshiba laptop(not a gaming laptop) and before things were smooth. Now it is unplayable.

Just awful.

On my PC they are fine. I have not tried my laptop though. I have an Asus, which is a gaming laptop, but still I should check it out.

So far things are going ok in my game. I am only on a standard map though. Has anyone had slow turn times on a standard map?

And this..."Regarding the court house, if they've changed it to no longer negate city unhappiness" What is up with this crap? I never heard they were changing the function of the courthouse.
