14th of June Patchnotes

Yep, total garbage. Turns noticeably a lot longer now. How can this be? I thought it was being optimized not made worse. Unbelievable.

I sure hope it means that. I almost loose my mind at the idea of a Caveman 2 Cosmos or Fall From Heaven in the Civ 5 engine with the Civ 5 UI..... It would be too good to be true.

I for one haven't been experiencing any lags in turns. But the whole DLC civ swap did happen to my last game save, but NBD.

And as I've expected it, I'm completely locked out of my game.. because it crashes every time I try to start it.. nice going... seriously! I don't know waht to do D: the game runs well, so it's not THAT.

yeah the steam workshop also has some mods that you have to have G+K, some religion mods.

Im a tad confused about having modbuddy thing and steam workshop.

The thing i want the most is to be able to change the load-order, which could help prevent mod conflicts.

The game feels much smoother now. Playing a standard continents plus, level 6 as Songhai. First time using quick game pace, its not bad.

Just played the first game with the new patch. Somehow the unit indicators and health bars of units disappear after a unit attached or was attacked. Pressing F10 brings these indicators back again. Very annoying though. I tried both DirectX9 and 10/11. I've played a thousand hours of CiV, never experienced this until the current patch.
Anyone else encountered this problem?

Yea does anyone know how people are already modding in new religions when G/K isn't out yet?

After playing a brief time on a huge map, I notice the turns are slower.
I logged out of Civ5 and came to this website. Now I get a notice from Windows that my computer "is running slow" and do I want to "use a basic windows 7" screensaver?

Is this just a coincidence?

Strange - workshop says 141 items but when i click to enter, only 51 entries, including mods we can't even use until G+K (religions).

This is making me very curious. Some people are getting markedly worse performance and some are reporting much better. Wonder what the cause is. Seems too stark to be confirmation bias. (Although really, NOTHING is too stark to be confirmation bias.)

It definitely plays faster and smoother on mine. I found a couple of unit animation bugs though, very minor but a little annoying as they never happened before.

When a city range attacks and kills a unit it just disappears with no animation.
Also
When being attacked by a ranged unit the individual people in a unit seem to flick chaotically around instead of moving to fill a dead persons place.

No change on mine for turn times, still nippy.

Wait, if i have the beta patch, how can I download this final patch? It haven't downloaded itself or anything

I agree with the folks who complain about this downloading without warning and wrecking save games. I was about 20 turns from winning domination with Hiawatha, and suddenly my civ has shifted from Happiness +20 (pre-patch) to a VERY unhappy -14 (post-patch) with no apparent explanation. Nothing in the patch-notes seems to involve tweaks to happiness calculations, but I haven't noticed anything else wrong with loading the old save. Help?!

sounds like this patch made things worse..not better.

I have a great CPU, as you can see from my signature, and the turn times in the Renaissance Era on a standard size/standard civ/CS map is killin me.

*sarcasm* Great frigging job guys...keep those "improvements and enhancements" coming to this wonderful game *sarcasm*

.DLL swap enabled, does this mean modders can FINALLY edit this, or is it just a pre-.DLL thing?
It's a step to allow DLL in mods, but IMO not an indicator that DLL will be available to modders immediately after G&K release. Let's hope I'm wrong.

I believe it's primarily needed for G&K integration with Civ5.

The thing i want the most is to be able to change the load-order, which could help prevent mod conflicts.
That's now available at the modder level. We can define in moddbuddy after which mods the one we're working on should be loaded, which mods are required and which mods are incompatibles.

Now I wonder how it will handle two mods that ask to be loaded after each other...

Yea does anyone know how people are already modding in new religions when G/K isn't out yet?
Some have beta access to G&K.
