1861 ad

Very interesting! I feel bad for him, trying to fight, do your duty, while worrying about your family, and your own well being. He was a brave and honorable soldier!:)
 
UnitNameEventManager.py, if that even exists in this mod.
Not sure if that's it but I think I heard something similar some time ago.
 
Nope, not in there. I did a file search in notepad++ for UNITCAMBAT_SPY and found 4 files that are associated with it

Buildings\CIV4BuildingInfos.xml
Text\Spymod_CIV4GameTextInfos.xml
Units\CIV4PromotionInfos.xml
Units\CIV4UnitInfos.xml

I compared that with RevolutionDCM and found it in the same 4 files, it wasn't in the BUG4.4 I merged (obviously).

Do you want all the spy elements in there? It would be nice, just have to track it down. I'll ask glider1 who made the spy changes.
 
yes all spy stuff would be great, and I sent in an update of the mod. A few things I added. I downloaded it yesterday. It will be awhile for next big update, I have school taking up much of my time. I am doing some historical research on wars and technology from 1895-1905.

I had a problem with 2.8 and no user interface, tried everything to get it on but it wouldn't do it. I make a copy of the BUG4.4 mod, rename it to 1861AD then start copying everything folder by folder that the BUG doesn't have (Art, Leaderheads, Technologies, etc..) Then the folders that the original 1861 have I tried winmerge to update the xml but I've gotten everything working except I get a "UNITCOMBAT_SPY" not valid. So I have to track that down, plus some other smaller art details which are an easy fix. Almost done though.
Did you check your CIV4UnitCombatInfos.xml if there's a UNITCOMBAT_SPY entry? If yes, does the txt_key it refers to exists as well ? should be TXT_KEY_UNITCOMBAT_SPY
 
So...What are the religions in this mod? Or it is ideology?

I ever changed them, so original religions. I might change them later. Maybe ideaologies would be better.
 
Maybe. Idk. Since that time period was full of new ideologies like Socialism, Communism, Anarchism, Nationalism, etc etc.
 
You're probably getting python errors, if logging is enabled you should have a PythonErr.log file in your Logs folder, which is needed for debugging.

But first thing to check is if you're fully patched to 3.19. If not, nothing can help you.

I have been making more changes and adding new techs. I have a ways to go, but it is looking awesome, and seems to be going in the right direction. Soon the Imperial Age should be finished. We will be seeing the first belted battleship, and protected cruisers, maybe a coastal gun boat. Pre WWI infantry, and artillery, and the first airships/zeppelins.
 
I hope this aint dead?
 
This mod is not dead. I will continue as before.
 
OK today I will add another tech and two units. I have sometime off for Xmas break, so while am testing Civ 5, I will come back and work on 1861 AD abit. I was thinking of changing the game speed to epic. We will see after playtesting. :)
