The U.S. Naval Intelligence only cared about the ships that existed for sinking, not about the ships, that were still been sunken as the four carriers desroyed at Midway. Conversely, a number of classes whose characteristics and appearances were only dimly known, like the battleships of the Yamato class, the Unryu class carriers, the command cruiser Oyodo, and the light cruisers of the Agano class, never received full-scale treatment, appearing only in the ONI 41-421 Index.
