2011 MLB Thread

there are some legitimate questions too surrounding their outstanding BP pieces in venters and kimbrell. both are rookies and have appeared in a lot of games so far. so it's fair to ask whether they will be fresh and effective come october. both are straight nasty though.

I don't no why you call him a cucumber but :bday: Lee :D

haven't you ever heard the term "cool as a cucumber"? :p

very apt imho

Of course I've heard the saying but it's well outdated and isn't a very good description of the awesomeness that is Cliff Lee. ;)

i bet you can't post with a straight face that you weren't hoping the bosox made a run at him last offseason :p he's a phenomenon! mythical!!

Meh, still say he's overrated. :p

Well anyone would want Lee on their staff, he's great. I would rather have a few others besides him though, such as Halladay. But I am happy the Sox did not wade into a bidding war that saw most offers sitting around 6 years with an option for 7 at 23-24 mil per. Lee took a pay cut to go to Philly. A good decision to stay out of the AL East and the uncomfortable confines of Arlington, where he would not last for 6 or 7 years.

He is sort of a phenomenon. I remember when he was kind of sucky on the Indians, the guy you picked up off the waiver wire one week in Fantasy and were instantly disappointed with. He totally transformed himself at a very late age.

edit: and yeah considering hsi 4.72 ERA and 1.42 WHIP at Fenway I am kinda glad we passed...;)

Pirates suck again. Hah, I knew it :smug:

If Tim was getting the run support, he would be doing much better.

Maybe he should learn to hit the ball :mischief:

Besides Cole Hamels is the king of no run support. He has only one like once if the other team scored more then 2 runs. That's why the Fox broadcasters put this in the pregame scouting report.
