Cheaper only to the extent that the dumper does not pay the full cost of the dumping. There's always another bill waiting to be delivered. ;)

Modern landfills aren't that crappy.

As for most Third World landfills though, yeah, they're hellholes...

So, OT kills annoying twits?

The trailer consisted almost entirely of large things falling over... of course I'm going to watch it!

i like the effect... but whats the storyline ???

"Earth's earliest civilization" (apparently the Mayans came before Sumer or Egypt, go figure) warned us of a great disaster and WE DIDN'T LISTEN and now stuff is going to blow up and church guys are going to be like "ohh irony" and one man will have to...not die? Also he will fall in love and makeout as the WORLD EXPLODES and it will end with some half assed moral message.

Yeah, I was wondering about that. Did they really think that could pass?

Like "People have the right to fight for their survival". Okay, so what do you propose? They allow a free for all at the end of the world to see who makes it in the end? What kind of a moral message is that? Social Darwinism? Reality TV?

People don't care about history aelf, don't be silly :(

More like "always listen to stupid people because one day they may be right" or "love your loved ones because you love them".

It said ONE of Earth's earliest civilizations. Get your facts straight.

How is it even one of the earliest civilizations?

Mayans are early like Jericho was late.

The only redeeming feature of this movie is that the director wants to expand the audience's comprehension of global disaster. Otherwise this movie would be better as a direct to amusement park release.

From wiki: "The alarmist claims of imminent doom made by Sony Pictures in their fictional publicity for the forthcoming film 2012 are not supported by reputable independent academic research."

Six times zero is still zero.

For a disaster movie, try "Threads".

Ah I've been meaning to get hold of that for a while, it always seems to be highly recommended. Didn't realise it was on google video, thanks for the link.
