Welp. What was startling to look like another Kurt Cousins situation evaporated today. From the article and previous reports that the main sticking point was contract length, it looks like Jerry was the one that blinked.

I think they overpaid and will regret it. Should have just drafted another QB with their high pick (in a QB heavy draft) and then use the freed up cap space to build around him.

Zeke is the one they should have regrets over. QB contracts are pretty much overpays by definition. Also while I don't currently think Dak is a future HOFer, I do think he's good enough that hoping to get just as good in the draft is pretty risky.

Even with the season ending injury ?

In other news, there's a rumor that the Buccaners want OBJ (or that Brady does ) but I don't buy it.

This is in now: my super bowl prediction for the upcoming season: Colts vs Bucs. I have my reasons.

Because they have a ton of cap space in a year many teams are unloading free agents left and right trying to get under the cap?

The Bucs just have to retain their core, which they can.

The Colts are already a solid team, and can improve even more for the reason you listed. The same also applies to the Dolphins, but I expect AFC East to be a meatgrinder.

there are other teams besides the Colts and Dolphins with lots of cap space, but those teams are not solid already. It is unusual to go from horrible to super bowl contender in one year.

They totally blew it by not trading him when the value was there.

more games, more profit for owners.

As a football fan who can't get enough, I would be in favor. The players almost certainly don't feel the same way. Watching the sport is not as dangerous as playing it.

Prediction: 17 is a warmup before they introduce 18 in a few years.

If players didnt want to go from 16 to 17, imagine how hostile they would have been if the jump was 16 to 18.

only what the owners think matters.

So can anyone tell me WTH the Jags are up to signing Tebow after he's been out of football for 8 years?
It's very difficult to believe he'd boost ticket sales at this point in time.

The Jags wouldn't need him to anyway because Trevor Lawerence is creating far more hype than peak popularity Tebow ever could.

There's no guarantee that he'll even make the roster. They are trying him out as a tight end. Players have successfully switched positions before in the NFL.

The Lawyer representing the 22 women in the Deshaun Watson case said settlements are not a possibility. If this goes to court I don't think he has a serious chance to win, nor should he. My opinion is the Texans were the worst team this season WITH him on the roster and playing. With him gone, I can easily see them going 0-17. I'm possibly going to a Texans game this year (because they play my Seahawks and I live in Texas) and I don't mind watching my team blow out the opponent in their home stadium. Houston, we have a problem. :rotfl:

Jacksonville is close to Gainesville.

Probably want to either make him a Taysom Hill or use him as a mentor for younger players.
