The only way I ever finished a rubik's cube was by taking it apart and putting it back together, or if I rigged it and remembered the pattern.

My grandfather sat with one of those for just about 3 days straight....Before he took it apart and glued it back together

Pretty cool.

There are some very clear and easy algorithms for solving this cube. It's however very difficult to figure them yourself. My father taught me to solve the rubic's cube when I was 5. Now I forgot, but I can remember. It's not difficult if you know the algorithm. But if you don't - I was unable to do it, and probably still are.

You can even solve it blindfolded, it's not that hard if you know how. But it is a humangous waste of time.
