I don't think any U-boatmen were....

Just to clarify that a bit if I may. :)

According to Nafziger's work on the various parts of the Reich's armed forces, some members of U-Boat flotillas were used to form parts of various naval brigades and divisions during 1944 and 1945. Most of the formations containing U-Boat crews though were formed in France from crews cut off in ports the allies had surrounded (e.g. Bordeaux, La Rochelle and so on). So I guess whilst it would have been difficult (if not impossible) for any of those crewmen to have fought in a ground role against the Russians, the principle of U-Boat crew members being crushed to death by a tank is a rather sound one

not sure if this is the one u are looking for but i found this one. and its a pretty sad reason to die

11 Sep, 1942
The commander of U-203 (Kptlt. Rolf Mützelburg) died in a unique incident on 11 Sept. He allowed his crew to swim in the sea and when he was about to dive from the tower the boat moved and he hit the saddle tank being badly wounded. He died the next day

Died due to toilet malfunction?

They have toilets in uboats now ???? :D

Uboat surfacing directly under a enemy / friendly Ship.

Dysentery ??? (now that would be hilarious)

I do know that Donitz sent to there deaths hundreds of sailors on there maiden combat mission against the allies AFTER Hitler had committed suicide. I think the casualtie rate was 70% within a few days. The Uboats damage / effect was neglable

Hitting the bottom from diving to deep ???
Falling down a ladder and breaking their uhhh balls ???
Smoking and accidently setting fire to the uboat ???
using the bath too much ???

Shot down while flying a Bachstelze kite? Or was flying the kite when the sub emergency dived?

Correct! This is the one I was looking for!
Some of the responses were.."unique" in their own ways.
Mutzelburg found the day to be so nice, he alloved his crew to swim. As he stood on the tower, and dived, a freak wave tipped the boat, and he struck the tank.
In response to fred, the letter sent reported how he had died in the line of duty.

Seamen are a supersticious lot.

I know a lot of deaths on the eastern front were from Dysentery. it would have been very funny for an entire uboat crew to be suffering from Dysentery and the scrubbers failing to keep up.

ok heres one.. its not much but i got a 1 yr old driving me nuts.

Germans or soldiers of the German armed forces?

Well it's not immediately obvious, after all IIRC some germans would have been captured in the airborne operations of which the earliest was Pegasus Bridge. I'm guessing you could be referring to the Korean guy or something like that though.

Tibetians or something like that. Captured from the USSR and conscripted.
