@Blue Ghost I think that when you give Cacadores Survivalism I and Trailblaizer I they will have access to full tree of recon units. Nothing more should be done. Am I right?

Tried that, didn’t work. Maybe it got changed in Vox Populi.

We’re there no clues in the Arminius mod? How did they do it?

Code:
INSERT OR REPLACE INTO UnitPromotions_UnitCombats
            (PromotionType, UnitCombatType)
VALUES ('PROMOTION_SURVIVALISM_2', 'UNITCOMBAT_GUN'),
            ('PROMOTION_SURVIVALISM_3', 'UNITCOMBAT_GUN'),
            ('PROMOTION_SCOUTING_2', 'UNITCOMBAT_GUN'),
            ('PROMOTION_SCOUTING_3',    'UNITCOMBAT_GUN');
A bit cheaty, but that'll work.
Alternatively, I could have the Cacadores randomly get a Trailblazer or Survivalism promotion alongside their regular promotion whenever they level up.

2 promotions for the price of 1? If you went that route I would say you would have to increase the cost of promotions to compensate. Maybe by 30-50%

I've completed good drafts of the text entries for the civs up to Babylon for @adan_eslavo. I'm working on Babylon, Siam, Byzantium and India now. It will probably be rough for those 4 and I will polish it as more civs are added.

Some notes for @adan_eslavo
I noticed Entemenanki doesn't have to be built in the capital, but it gives its food bonus on investment to the capital. Either it should have to be built in the capital or it should give the food bonus to the city with the entemenanki in it. Right now it looks weird.

new text will have to be built for the dromon too, so I'm adding a thing for that.

Adding 'A Winner is You!' to Kibitum level 15 promotion

Adding 'Gotta Go Fast!' to Seir Morb Crouching tiger IV promotion

I have said "on completion, triggers an event" for the hippodrome. This is not complete yet, but I don't think anything more needs to be said within the description

On further inspection of the hippodrome it looks realtively weak in comparison to the other stuff, but we haven't solidified what bonuses the 4 coloured teams will give. The bonus ideas I gave before were very minimal on purpose so that people who didn't use events wouldn't miss out, but apparently unskippable events can be made in .lua. I think circus should get 2 culture instead of 1, at any rate.

The Baan Chang has a ton of bonuses going on. I don't think the 10% mounted bonus is necessary at all with the bonus ivory yields. Or you could combine it and make it 10% bonus to mounted unit production for every source of ivory instead of the yields.

The worker generated from kills by Eagles, have the prisoner of war promotion?

I think Venice needs to be redone. It needs a unique unit, the trading post art assets aren't working, and I think the laguna could be better.
For Venice, I think a replacement for the market that also benefits trading posts can solve the problem. Give back the Great Galleass.

Checked. Science and food bonus after investment are sql coded and give bonuses to proper city. Are you sure about that bug?

It would be interesting if it were corrected that the Merchant of Venice can buy more than one city in case the city-state has conquered a neighbor.

We should find another model for Danish Longboat. It looks weird when embarked unit has 2 copies of same model like actual longboat which has only 1. For now I will try to make embarked longboats smaller (but comparing to other embarked units it will be uncomparably small) and military one bigger.

@pineappledan In that text file are all of text changed or I need to check which are different than their previous versions?

@David de Vasconcelos You could post this issue on github for Community Patch. The same issue is bothering me while using City States Evolved mod. Getting 3 city at once is little bit OP.

Hello everyone. I have done a playtest with France using the last VP version (because I wanted to see how would go a game where Fealtry isn't overpowered compared to the other tier 2 policy trees). Because I read that the AI was more dangerous in this version, I used the following settings : communitas, difficulty 5, strandard speed, no events, raging barbarians (as always).
The civs were : China, Ottomans, Shoshones, Mongolia, Babylon, Siam, Aztecs, Celts, India.

So, what to say about this game ?

Spoiler China be damned ! :

- I began the game on a peninsula rich in resources with Paris being surrounded by three lakes (so an excellent start at first sight) and a militarist CS not far from me. Just next to the peninsula was China (with a non-coastal capital), with vasts expands of lands to farm. China was the main player during all the game, with crushing cultural and religious influence (spoiler alert : China won a cultural victory before I entered the Modern era). I didn't succeed in establishing my religion and go converted to Chinese Taoism. China chose Tradition/Fealty/Imperialism/Freedom.
- I played Authority/Artistry/Rationalism, but it was a mistake, and I should have gone Progress instead of Authority : I didn't expected China to turtle like it did, and, when I began to have Musketeer, China had completed Fealty (so +15 CP to all Chinese cities) and Suleiman had voluntarily become its puppet (knowing that the Ottomans were the third power on the map at that time...... what were they thinking...) and stayed vassalized all the game.
- All my foreign policy was about China : I succeeded in befriending Babylon and the Shoshones (the second power of the game), but our invasions didn't cause China to collapse (mostly because the Ottomans relieved it from half the pressure), even if, when China won (mostly because of its religion : Stupas everywhere), we controlled the Congress (I had seven allied CS) and I was only one tech behind... I finished the game fourth in score... So, what to say about this game other that "I hate China !" ?

- Because I couldn't expand much and couldn't conquer much, I decided to go full GP and made my capital a wonder to see : with the Grande Ecole, this was even more true. I like this UB a lot since it allows France to be quite polyvalent in its yields (contrary to Sweden) and also encourages you to stabilize your economy toward a GP focused one in the end-game : culture and production from UA, food/gold/culture from UI, science/production from UB.
- I like how spread out the French UC are : one per era beginning the Medieval era. The first two are more about attack/expansion, the two other about consolidation/defense. The two post-revolutionar UC, funnily enough, should synergize well with Rationalism/Freedom : scientists and engineers produced can provide enhanced science/production boosts thanks to Rationalism ; more specialists is good when playing Freedom ; the SPAD works well combined with the Freedom B29 ; you don't need the Autocracy "Lightning warfare" promotion to infantry, since you already have it through your UM1.
- One militarist CS gave me some Licornes, which are very fearsome when coupled with "Lightning warfare riflemen" (so much mobility and anti-personnel damages !).
- More tests by more experienced players are needed to see how powerful the two new French UC are.

PS : I didn't say that China was broken, simply that, in that game, I wasn't able to exploit its periods of weakness (in the early game most notably, at a time when it has negative happiness because of all the settling) : I was guilty for having let all of this happen so smoothly for Wu Zetian. Sometimes, in my games, China get crushed (but, like the Iroquois, less often than most civs).

I intend to make a reworked version of the Skirmisher table (since it was the first UM table I did, and the other ones look much better). It should be finished tomorrow.

The worker generated from kills by Eagles, have the prisoner of war promotion?
@Blue Ghost has decided not to add it for now, it's still new and contentious. Even if PoW stays, it might not necessarily mean we follow suit on this for Eagle, since awarding players with broken workers as a unique ability doesn't seem fun.
Wait, which one did you go with for Ban Chang? dropping the % to mounted or making it the bonus for ivory?
Checked. Science and food bonus after investment are sql coded and give bonuses to proper city. Are you sure about that bug?
That is how it was described in the patch description, which may not reflect its in-game function. I'll fix that in my text description.
Changed name of promotion to "Best Among Us".
Oh, yeah I can do that. what I added was in the description, so currently it reads:
Legacy VII
+75% [ICON_STRENGTH] Combat Strength. A Winner is You!

Crouching Tiger IV
+60% [ICON_STRENGTH] Combat Strength. Gotta Go Fast!

I would call the Kibitum promotion "old-timer", if we wanted to make it a joke.
I intend to make a reworked version of the Skirmisher table (since it was the first UM table I did, and the other ones look much better). It should be finished tomorrow.
Yaaay, that's the last table we are missing!

Were you able to try out the SPAD?
@pineappledan In that text file are all of text changed or I need to check which are different than their previous versions?
Wouldn't it be easier to simply delete the relevant lines from the .xml files and add the Text.xml file to your modinfo file? If you have been re-adding the entries by hand to your own files then a lot of effort on my part was wasted, since I was careful to use your asset names and format.
Every single asset has had at least some text changed, all civilopedia entries have been corrected for spelling errors, and British English spelling, and in some cases significantly shortened. The UIs' help and strategy text should not be more consistent with VP. I removed all special characters like the E's with accents on Ecole. Lots of tiny changes.

Currently, the help and strategy lines for all units should be done. I haven't made civilopedia entries for any of the new units and buildings, and have just added placeholders there for now. I'll update the Ban Chang and Entemenanki as well

@pineappledan
  • Yeah but you used older files where some promotion names were changed, some promotion were deleted. I also need to modify slighlty UI sql hyperlinks. It is better to do it manually to not to miss anything.
  • Next time you can only put me those lines that are changed.
  • BTW Nice civilopedia entries for some new UCs. This one for Babylon... You naughty...
  • Deleted 10% bonus towards mounted units.
  • Made few very small corrections to you corrections. Mostly text colors and missing periods. I don't know for sure how it is in english, but why you add comma before word "and"? Is that correct. In polish this rule is only applied in f.e. "Me and my dad, and my brother...". I saw this few time in the text but didn't change.
  • After I put v16 update take alook at some texts and maybe consider adding more spaces to the walls of texts.

IMPORTANT Do we have art and models for dutch Goedendaag?

@pineappledan To help you, I present to you brand new v16 version with Denmark, all new text, my text corrections and few bugfixes. I suggest you reading all descriptions through game screen instead of notepad - it is easier to find some mistakes.

For the picture and the 3d model, this one is the best.
For the flag, the one of the Flanders (Robert III) by Lastsword is better I think (you can compare with the one of the Flanders (Robrecht III) by JFD and Janboruta).

Were you able to try out the SPAD?

No unfortunately... As I said, China won before I entered the Modern era. From what I know, the 3d model, picture, flag and animations of the unit are fine. Gameplay-wise, the tech it is unlocked at, Flight, also gives a bonus to Chateau, so it synergizes well. I'm not a specialist of modern combat in Civ V.

Thanks for Update!

Is it compatible with saved games?

My apologies w.r.t. the older tags. I had wrongly assumed tags had stayed the same. I’ll correct that. I think it would save a considerable amount of time, however, if the texts were in a single document, rather than one for each UC.

The commas in lists, even before ‘and’ is called an Oxford comma. People have gone back and forth on its proper use, but right now commas before and is the most acceptable.

Missing periods are my bad. Just as likely an importing error. I used Microsoft Word so I could have the benefit of a spellchecker.

I agree, using the game’s UI will give a better sense of the line spacing.

What civs still remain?
Carthage, Zulu, Songhai, Korea, Inca, Persia, Maya, Huns and Rome are available. (Holy crap, only 9 are left??!)

Check the 4UC by civilization spreadsheet for the most up to date versions of each proposal.

Rome and Inca have been discussed quite thoroughly at this point and I think are reasonably stable. Maya, Huns and Songhai are the most undercooked. Post whatever you plan to work on one last time here, however, just to make sure everyone’s on the same page. I had hoped people would use the spreadsheets more than they ended up actually doing, but they are at least still coming in handy.

Egypt is mostly done, but the nilometer is not fully implemented right now. We want the building to spawn 2 flax resources on completion, but @Blue Ghost has given license for someone else to go to the trouble; it’s a lot of art assets. All the art assets and some partially completed coding has been done, but it is not yet working in-game. Check @Blue Ghost’s post for the most recent version.

Of all the UC proposals, Rome’s Is the most complex. Take that if you really want a challenge.

I would suggest finishing game you started and then loading new version. I'm not sure if it is compatible. If you have Denmark in current game then probably not.

@pineappledan I plan to merge what can be merged (text files, pictures) after all is done. For now it is easier for me to find something with civ separation. When you say that Kibitum has something then I find Kibitum instead of looking through mass of text.
For the picture and the 3d model, this one is the best.
For the flag, the one of the Flanders (Robert III) by Lastsword is better I think (you can compare with the one of the Flanders (Robrecht III) by JFD and Janboruta).
Thank you. I will start then preparing art for Netherlands and then try to merge what was written by @De_Genius to my mod part.

Wow, the unit icon from JFD and Janboruta doesn't even make sense. Why would they use a morning star as the icon for a Goedendag?
