I also decided against scouts, too many barbs around.

Got it. I will look at the save tonight, but I may not get to play until tomorrow. Looks like we are in good shape on this one. I would have expected to find another civ somewhere on a landmass this size (perhaps in the fog to the east?) so settling on or near Gozpel's red dots makes sense to me.

Agree with the need for curraghs and contacts ASAP. I am a little bit surprised to see we are still building archers, I will look to get the iron connected to pump out some swords.

India is on the ropes, although they still have a fair number of cities left. I would put the next city on the spot 3S of Dalandz. for another curragh. The mini SOD by the ruins of Lahore are resting on the mountaintop before probing farther south. We have a pretty good force assembled by Hovd, but the jungle blocks our cats; I would put a city 3S of Hovd as our bridge to Bombay and other points S.

i suggest we concentrate on filling our lands more then faster advancing on india, unless you consider this as against the NOW rules.
 
I think we can do both. Once we have a path through the jungle our combined swords/archers/cats should be able to steamroll the remaining Indian cities without much difficulty. I don't know if they lack horses and iron, but so far all they have thrown at us are archers and spears. They are building the Pyramids too, so likely their best city isn't even producing military.

We are far behind in tech at the moment. GL would help greatly, but i don't think we have a chance to get it. We have horses though, but not connected.
Sending few swords NW to take care of barbarians and protect settler.

At this point i don't see a reason for self-research. put research to 0 and bought CB for 88 gold. I don't want to do GPt deal with Spain - our next target. I will be looking for other folks around.

T7. 410BC. Meet koreans. They are also in MA. Bought HBR for 2gpt and 103gold. I am not in a hurry to pay gpt for AA techs. The more AIs we meet the cheaper techs will become. Meet France. She is still in AA and misses CoL and Currency. I can make something out of it. Buy currency from Koreans for 20gpt+20gold. Bought construction and Philo from France for Currency 8gpt and 17 gold. We need CoL, Poly and MM to enter MA.

T8. 390BC. Calcutta captured. 2 elite victories - no leader.

T9. 370BC. Connected Incense. Two elite victories - auto-razed Bengal. Lost elite archer. Such a bad luck with leader hunting.. This game is certainly much harder than previous one and mostly because of bad luck (barbs, late contacts, leader hunt). Hey, we probably should never let gozpel to create any maps. :-)

IBT. French built GW, Arabs built MoM. Everybody is building Gr. Lib.

T10. 350BC Holy cow Karakorum riots... :smoke: How'd i missed that. Should never have said anything bad about Gozpel. Two more elite victories and no luck again. Almarich is also about to riot. I hired taxman in both towns to avoid putting lux on 30%. Currently it is at 10%. Both towns at pop7 and building settlers.

Post-turn. Horses will be connected next turn and i think it is time to start building horses instead of swords. If we meet more AIs we should be able to get out of AAs pretty quickly. Right now we are running at +11gpt but treasury is pretty much dried out. Shouldn't be a problem to kill off Indians. It is slow due to sword slow movements. That might be a good thing actually - will help us to level in techs with other AIs and improve infras a little before we start fighting Spain.

will take us forever to finish Spaniards... Looks like they are on another continent... I am building a curragh in our incense city. That should help explore what Spain is about a little more.

It is hard to believe we have so large continent shared just between us and India.

Determined leader fishing produced nothing by way of a leader but the brave Bonkers was killed after winning his "Golden Goose" fletching by whacking a barbarian camp and joining the Madras contingent.

Built three more towns, one west of Ta-Tu on the ccoast, one in the north and one more in the east.

Looks like a war with France will come sooner rather than later as they have founded two towns in the west. My suggestion would be declare on Spain first, then France, and raze the French towns hoping for some technology in the Peace Treaty.

The barbarians coming from the east and north remain more than a little troublesome. Had to spend down the treasury opening embassies to avoid too much gold loss. as they threatened in the east and north with way more yokels than I had defenders.

Paris is like way scary....though I realize it is because they are enjoying their Golden Age.

Built some horsemen but had to send them east to deal with the barbarians which were swarming like hornets out that way. The swords, archers and catapults appear to be enough to do the dirty to the Indians, though they keep mulitplying like rabbits and building towns in the east.

Jaipur is to the south of our forces (the current capitol), there is at least one more town to the west in the fog and two or more to the east, south of the Spanish outpost. Also the town in the fog to the west of Jaipur is chock-full of Indians who were on a barb hunt that way.

I was probably a little too deliberate in prosecuting the Indian War but it takes so long to get reinforcement down the peninsula I preferred to attack only with a full complement of healthy troops then pick up reinforcement while the wounded healed.

Our battered curragh has not yet fulfilled his mission on the high seas as we still lack one contact.
