5CC Regent Training Game

Nice knowing you, Hammy. He should be dead next turn.

Edrine is sharing 2 tiles with Iznik and 1 with Bursa.

Alright, I'll go next. I should be able to play tomorrow night, and maybe some tonight.

Just a question before I start, should I found on the yellow dot, blue dot, or not at all during my turnset?

Edit: I got it, but I'll just survey the situation, and not make any settler decisions

I'd say 1 tile East of blue dot for a keeper city, unless we decide to save it for a captured city, as can only have 5 cities at the end of a turn. I say build it for the unit support.

Sorry, I couldn't play last week, I was out of town.
I still think that we should take our last settler North of Istanbul, put him right next to the lake. I think that b/c of the hills, we should be able to generate a lot of shields from that spot.
Then, we'll explore North for our next target.

Alright, I am about to play. I will start and hopefully finish a settler for blue dot.

Hawk, I agree up north is good, except, the hills can generate a max of 2 shields in despot, so we can always abandon blue dot found that when we have switched to monarchy/republic.

Overseer-I don't think one east of blue dot makes much difference, an added BG, but one square further away from Istanbul.

I hope I made the right decision.

For that matter, should we choose monarchy or republic? Normally, I'd like rep, and right now our techs are set for the republic slingshot, but in a 5CCC, we might need all the unit support we can get. Suggestions?

Now I can research them both. I'm inclined for Monarchy, so if no response in 10 min, I'm doing it.

Monarchy should be fine. Ordinarily, Republic is better, but 5CC puts such a limit on growth that it probably won't work.

In 5CCC, Monarchy>Republic. Especially in PTW.

In C3C Non-Military Victory game, Republic>Monarchy.

In Soviet Russia, Government chooses YOU! Oh, and Communism>All.

Well here it is. A summary of an unlucky turnset.

Well that was a very poor turnset. Lost 4 swords and a horse, killed 2 bowmen, expected to take Ashur on turn 1, never took it at all.

Hawk, I hope you have better luck than me!

So, here's the roster:
Overseer: UP
Hawk: On Deck
Tasslehoff
Killerkid: Just played

@Tassle: Uh, No Philosophy free tech in Vanilla or PTW...

This is m "got it" post. Bad luck killerkid. I think you got sidetracked killing barbs and you didn't concentrate your forces. The other problem is the accelerated production, which allows the Babs to crank out Bowmen every turn. Thats the main reason most SG's use normal production rate, why give any more advantages to the AI? I will kill the Babs soon, trust me!

Not so fast.... I'm getting invalid file message. Can someone else try to open it?

I dont think the barbs were the problem- I had one horse that was up there from the start. Just I got overconfident that we would take the city. I think it has to do with the AP, I usually play without it and am not used to the AI building so much stuff.

I have finished my turn-set, there is good news, and there is bad news that might be good news. The Babylonians are gone, and the Arabs declared on us after I refused a demand. We researched 2 techs during my turn and traded for another. On a possibly controversial note, I began 2 wonders that we most likely will get, the Colossus and the Hanging Gardens. Here is my turn-log:
