If we run engineerin on an extra turn, we could then sell engineering and keep educacation, if we did sell engineering I would build Copernicus in Moscow though, there again the AI might self research education

This is a good idea--sell Engineering and not Education. If we sell them all Engineering, many of them will go for Invention instead of Education.
 
I like that idea, too. I have the save and should be able to start tomorrow.

Looks like you should play sick more often! :)

We may want to consider making a serious raid on France (slaves = yummy) which means military (knights) in lieu of building banks. By "serious raid" I mean trying to take out two or three cities, raze them, and hopefully get some slaves out of the deal. A lot of slaves now will make things sooooo much easier when it comes time to rail everything.

Alternatively, I'd be fine with peace with France sooner rather than later.

What we don't want to have happen, and I've seen it in these sorts of games, is to get on the wrong end of a significant dogpile. We can handle the trickle of units from 1 or 2 civs, especially far-away ones. We don't want to get in a situation we can't handle. We're in a fortunate spot with a pretty weak immediate neighbor. It'd be nice to take the chance to make them even a bit weaker (but still early enough that they can re-settle the area before our stronger neighbors do).
 
Sounds like its going well, good time for the French to declare when they had a settler pair, I will make some more comments after looking at the save.

I noticed that the Vikings will give us a good deal for banking, I think whoever is next up should sell Banking to him immediately for 58 gpt, this will slow his research of astronomy

Is it worth attacking loan archer with elite AC before interturn and moving AC out of rostov to place him on mountain
 
Oh and is the Knights Templar (12 turns) in Moscow an option instead of Bank
 
58gpt is a lot.

However, we can probably get that for Gunpowder in a few turns.

Also however, since they have Invention they'll probably research Gunpowder before Astronomy anyway (right?).

On balance, I'd probably do it, but if we do I'd tend to try to make some peace along the way to avoid the Vikings being bought in against us and us losing that cash.
 
I reckon get the deal for banking from vikings then establish embassy and get alliance versus portugal if we can (maybe for gunpowder) with them and make peace with france (after getting some workers)
 
I'd recommend selling them Banking as that will make them have more gpt in the future usually (GAs come as the exception, I think).

We don't particularly care if they have gunpowder. They can build alllllllll the muskets they want.

EDIT: Also, it may just be smart to gift Chemistry around once we get it; there's a (slim, but plausible) chance that we go Physics-ToG-Magnetism and someone somehow saves time for us by getting Metallurgy which we'd save for last for a few reasons.

Most cities will work a full 20 tiles, and the others in your empire 18 or 19. Even with the extra contentedness at Monarch, cathedrals+Sistine will help here to keep research up and luxes low. Did the army defeat any of the other tribe's units? You need that for the Military Academy (but you'll want to wait until an AI researches MT for you). You can check by seeing if you can build the Heroic Epic.
