800 AD, the Bulgarian Empire is on the rise, the Khazar khanate is reaching its
greatest height, and the Abbasid caliphate is rival to Rome in terms of glory and
might. In the far east the Khmer Empire is born from the ashes of the Chenla
and the Tang Dynasty faces the mighty Uyghurs to the north.

This is part of Thor's Timeline series, a short set of scenarios to show some
of the most dynamic eras in history.

Yea, I never actually make mods, I just don't have the patience, maybe once
I have finished this series I'll make them all into a mod.

Well, theoretically the Aztecs can colonize most of the Americas (depends somewhat on barb resistence/presence there).

Ah, then on my next update for it I shall add more barbarians.

Also, a minor technical question that doesn't deserve a topic of
its own. I was updating this mod to be abit more... in depth. But
for some reason it just stops at the loading screen and won't even
start loading. Any ideas why that is?

Hmm, not really: I was able to play as the French (Franks) for quite a while until I got a CTD. (Which may have been because I had several other mods on as well.)

If I can make a suggestion, perhaps you could find a Civ4 map that excludes the New World and the lower part of Africa so the game runs faster.

very cool but do these changes to make it more historicaly accurate:
download the vikings mod and add the vikings
change the colour of the greeks into roman clour
make russia Kiev Russia instead of them being the Kazars
add more city states in africa and central america
make a city state rome, instead of being byzantine. 800 ad was the year when the franks and byzantines fought for rome (politicaly not militarily)
make a city state of leon (in spain)
add the iroqois and call them Dorset or Thule tribe (they where the tribe that the vikings met in 1000AD, go on wikipedia to know more)

Not a single one of my downloads are, and none of them ever will be.
Unless of course someone can show me how to upload downloads to
that horribly disorganized database.

To Thor : you should add Spain as primitive spanish micro-kingdoms like Navarre, Leon, Aragon or Castille... I'm sure it would be Leon and Navarre by 800 AD...

You should add also Incan Empire...
Its precursor of course...

You could create a version with the two DLC...

A version without DLC and a version with DLC...
Can you make that ?

If not you could add Iroquois for North America...

I use Windows 7 and when I extract from 800_ad.zip in my Maps folder, all I get is the map. Then I get on the game and I choose that map and click Load Scenario, but all I get is a regular game starting in 4000 BC. Am I doing something wrong?

Sorry, I'm kind of a noob, I know, but could someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Thanks.
