An Address to the Scottish People
Hello, Scotland. This is your Consul, Ernest Ross. So few of you are sadly unfamiliar with Scottish history, no, Britannic history. So many think that the world has always been the way it is today. Let me tell you, it was not. Long ago, we were a proud, powerful people, who could not be swayed by the tide of waves far from our reach and far from our control. People of Scotland, it shall be so again. We are a great people, and greatness demands great things! We shall have a great army, a great navy, and a great airforce. We will have great schools, great homes, and great friendships. And so I ask you to welcome this new age with me, and do not be afraid. Greatness waits for no one.

From the Free City of Chicago
To New England

As always, our city is open as a conduit of trade between the Eastern Seaboard and the West. We would like your government to guarantee the independence of our nation from external threats, in order to ensure that such trade may continue uninterrupted.

"From the valley of the Schuykill, to the meeting of the 3 great rivers of the Ohio River Valley, a beautiful, pristine land remains peopled by equally rough, and hardy men and women. For too long has Pennsylvania been forgotten by the nations of the world, shadowed by great Northern and Southern neighbors. For too long have Pennsylvanians forgotten what it is to be a Great Nation. For too long the boots of mediocre consistancy stepped on the hands of the great that attempted to climb to the top. Yet, as I stand before ye of the mighty Pennsylvanian nation, I see not a battered, forgotten people. Rather, I see a new, untapped potential.

Philadelphia, home of the American revolution, has long ago been overshadowed by it's brother to the west, Pittsburgh, home of our revolution. Such things happen with the passing of time. Pittsburgh is the industrial capital of Pennsylvania. Long diminished since the revolution, Pittsburgh has toiled in being a city content to be nothing more but a city. Yet, Pittsburgh can be much more. Pittsburgh can be a port, a gateway to the west. Pittsburgh can be the world's supplier of steel. Which makes me wonder why it currently isn't? Why has Pittsburgh, the once shining light of the west been dimmed? Why have Pennsylvanians, the inventors of practical electricity, steam engines, and steel foundries been stifled from truly reaching their potential?

Pittsburgh will be rebuilt. It's steel production will once again equal that of the rest of the world combined. Trade throughout the Ohio River Valley will bring people and commerce to the capital. Pittsburgh's wealth will be the envy of the rest of the world, equalled by none.

Our Empire is one of steel. If our people is what makes this nation great, certainly our hardwork, dillegence, and our steel nerves are what makes our people great. Pennsylvania, I promise you, that the economy of our nation will double within the next 5 years. Our fields in the central valley will once again experience full harvest, as Philadelphia, Erie, and of course Pittsburgh will become global trade hubs. But Pennsylvania, I can not do this alone. Every member of the Commonwealth is expected to do his and her duty to ensure that Pennsylvania isn't just a nation, but a great nation. Our people needn't be strong. Our people must be steel."

Considering trading on the Great Lakes is a major source of income to the Commonwealth, we are relatively upset that we have yet to of been extended a hand of friendship, and trade. Is Chicago not interested?

Bonjour and hello. We ask for open trade along the Great Lakes for all of us.

To: Quebec
From: The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

The Commonwealth is once again offended by it's lack of invitation to trade of the Great Lakes, seeing that the bustling port of Erie is looking for new markets.

From: Arabistan
To: Iraq

Our two nations have long been bonded together in friendship and brotherhood. We suggest a formal alliance between Iraq and Arabistan to secure this friendship for years to come.

Arabistan reiterates its wishes for a formal alliance with its brothers in Iraq.

OOC: No problem EQ.

Is it acceptable for me to give Venezuela a try? I don't think anyone's claimed it yet.

From the Free City of Chicago
To the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

We apologize for the oversight, and would gladly extend our hand of friendship and economic cooperation with Pennsylvania. We are always in search for new markets, and would be willing to import Pennsylvanian steel (as that industry has been declining) if you would be willing to import Chicago's manufactured goods.

From: The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
To: The Free City of Chicago

Very well. We will import any and all goods you manufacture, and our steel mills will happily crank out whatever quotas you may need.

To: Sweden
From: Florida

Florida would like to establish trading with the Bahamas/(OOC: or whatever the chain of islands next to Florida is.).

OOC: God dammit EQ, I posted the NPC diplo TWICE and you have yet to respond. I'll send orders as soon as my negotiations with the NPCs and Virginia are over.

OOC: Did I miss something?

To Quebec
From Virginia

We are content with our current situation. We have no desire to open up further trade with Quebec.
